You do have a very nice set up! I like the way you explain everything and show us around. I have a set up very similar to yourself. My wife and I have been living in our fifth wheel for about three years. We exclusively run off of solar, in fact, the rig you have looks surprisingly similar to my own. Almost as if you’ve been watching over my shoulder. Just kidding of course! Can’t wait to see more.

The time for payback might be important to some people but most of us just want the freedom from the grid. With me I'd gotten stage 4 cancer a couple years ago and after the chemo and radiation I realized if I got sick again and couldn't pay bills that we was still gonna need electricity so even tho I've spent about 30 grand on components and will likely never see a return on investment cash wise just knowing me and the wife has electricity the rest of our lives with no bill was worth every cent. One day I might have to replace an inverter or some other components but for the most part I feel the system is oversized enough that we should be good on electricity. Now I'm wanting to have a well dug and that will take care of the water issue. Being off grid is a challenge but also keeps my mind busy so the benefits seem to be endless. Thanks again for sharing your videos of your system

I will see a return in about 5 years. I only keep the utility pole live because it is a back up. Basically a cheap insurance policy. Also because right now I have one inverter so I use it for the dryer.. I'm way to lazy to go out in the FL heat to hang it. My main reason for doing it was the AC. The trailer will cook ya alive in the FL heat without AC . I run mine ALL day long non stop. We have power outages here due to hurricanes storms and dumb people driving in heavy rain who run over the telephone poles.... Now the only way I can tell when the electric is out is when the parks water goes out . But the nice thing about the trailer is I have a large water tank with a 12 volt pump.... Problem solved....

@@FreeAmericanSpirit I installed a 38 seer 9000 btu minisplit in my camper. It runs 24 7. It goes as high as 13500 btu and as low as 2000 btu with variable speed compressor. It starts out at 600 watts and after 10 or 12 minutes then drops in watts down to between 200 and 300 watts. I run two solar power systems with two seperate inverters one is responsible just for my air-conditioning and the other system runs the rest of my camper. Currently I only have 1850 watts of solar panels which is great most the time but I'm putting another 10 panels on a ground mount very soon because I still want to charge on cloudy rainy days in winter. I'm really impressed with this minisplit heat pump and I'm excited to see if I can do most of my heating this winter with it also. It's advertised as still heating with temperatures down to around -5 degrees but I'll have to wait and see about that. I too have a decent fresh water tank and 12 volt pump in my holiday rambler but both my solar power systems are 24 volt. One is 3000 watt 110 and the other system is 110-220 split phase

@@FreeAmericanSpirit I bought one of the step down things to go from 24 down to 12 but my water pump didn't like the 12 volts as well as it did the 13.8 volts coming from my 120ac to 13.8dc converter that came in the camper. The 12.24 step down was way more efficient but my pump kinda struggled with it. I think victron makes a step down that's adjustable that I'd like to have if I end up doing it again. Also my propane heat that I hardly use runs off the 12 volt side and the fan in the propane furnace ran a lot slower thru the 24.12 step down. I might should have gotten one that was capable of more amps or one that was adjustable.

The fire retardant backer board isn’t recommended because of daily use. Most times things will only get slightly warm at most. It’s for if the inverters or fuses have an catastrophic issue. Which may be rare but it can create a light show. Considering the board costs $15 at Lowe’s, it’s pretty cheap fire insurance.

How much heat do two of these inverters and a 6 battery system produce ? I can’t find much info. Wondering if a small space say 4’x4’ if insulated . Would they provide enough heat to keep the batteries operating?

@@richardreese5377 in my opinion the inverters would overheat in a space that small. On a good day with lots of pv voltage coming in they can generate a lot of heat. Plus it would depend on the low temps where you live.

Depends on how many amps the oven pulls. My dryer pulls just at the peak amperage output and will trip the unit off... So I would need to add another unit.. If your oven draws less than 20 amps it might work. You would need to get a hold of the manufacturer or supplier online and ask them for the specs.... I am not an expert so I can not tell you how it would perform for you or in your area...
