Exactly, there should be a particular air release and tongue position when saying "Ich." It is not the sound in words like wish or fish. You are right.

@DuoDeutsch Too bad, but there are three ways in which it is pronounced: 1.) after i and e it is like "echt" 2.) after a, o and u it is like "Kuchen" 3.) at the beginning of the word it is c as in English (care, cake)
