Another great video Kevin! I really like: * the way you go into extreme detail about every facet of your project * your attention to detail and to quality. You always try to improve on design & build features wherever possible. * the time you take for before & after comparisons and measurements. Such as in this install the before/after differences in sound pressure, amp draw, and temperature output. * how you point out any special tools needed to make the project go easier. * how you manage to do the work with 1 hand while filming with the other. Quite amazing! * the amount of pre-project research you do to select the best quality piece of new equipment - whether it's your refrigerator, the A/C unit, replacement fuel pump or anything! Saves us lots of time. You have selected Furrion as the best replacement unit. I hope they compensate you for producing this video, because they will be selling many more A/C units because of this. Especially if they attach your video to their website. You work hard to produce quality videos, and Furrion will benefit from your work here. They owe you! Thanks again.

For the Furrion AC where the two dark styrofoam pieces fit together on the condenser side I think I would seal that seam with some AC tape. You’ll need a knife to get into it for service but at least it would be more efficient.

Thank you so much for this video Kevin! This covered almost all the questions I had about the conversion unit. I ordered my new roof a/c last week and installed it this weekend. Most of it went as planned, some thing too some modification (I am retrofitting this to a 1999 Winnebago Adventurer) I am waiting delivery on the adapter plug. Fingers crossed that this works with my current wall thermostat. I'll let you know next weekend! You rock my friend!

Kevin the four AC mounting bolts normally don’t loosen, the foam gasket compresses over time. Which seems like you bolts have loosen.

Well that makes sense... That reminds me I need to recheck the tourque on those bolts now that the gasket has had some time to compress.

The spec sheet you show at about 43 minutes states 10.7 amps at 115 volts. Your old unit was actually running at about 8.5amps at 119 volts. Assuming equivalent resistance, that's a difference of a couple hundred watts, but the resistance values could be different for any number of reasons.

Much of Furrions products are made in the USA. There are manufacturing plants throughout the United States of America as well as in Canada. Additionally, the company has global headquarters and quality control locations in China. Elkhart, IN, is where many Furrion products are made. I made a L shaped wood rig that fits on an extension ladder, then added a 600lb crank winch to raise and lower the rig. Then I put the AC unit on the rig and winched it up to the roof height. Then put the old AC unit on the rig and lowered it back to the ground. The Furrion already has a soft start unit built in, so you don't need one to lower power surges. My biggest complaint is the inside fan never shuts off, and the thermostat controls the outside compressor and fan motor. My previous unit cut on and off as needed so it went from quiet to noisy as needed.

My thermostat went on my '05 Pace arrow. I had put the fury end s air conditioners up like you did. The Coleman mock thermostats I installed exactly like you did inside the furience everything worked for the last 2 months now. Looks like the thermostat and the wall is shorted out and it won't work. Do you know of replacement for this wool thermostat or where I can get one quick? I'm in Mesa now

I would call Coleman for replacement unit. mean time you can jump the correct wires to force ac on
@keoni9977
@keoni9977 Жыл бұрын
i bought this, but the the Mach 15 diffuser didn't align with the fan output location and the harness only had 5 wires instead of 6 like the original. this meant when i was done the fan only ran on high, no low fan! because the output of the fan didn't align i had to rig up a baffle out of foam so that the supplied chilled air didn't short cycle into the return.

I recently put a micro air Easy Start on my 14.5k Furrion and it works great. Some soft starters won't work with them. Here's a good video of the install. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fV6boJJ7Z8d3j68 It will cut your starting amps in half and will actually make your compressor last longer. Of course, if you modify your AC in any way, they can use this as an excuse to void your warranty.

@@ktoutdoor Yep 2% of the reviews are 1 star (88% are 5 star) for the Micro Air 364 RV AC model. I'll bet the 2% who had problems with it installed it incorrectly. My 14.5k Furrion went from a 47-amp start-up to 24 amps (it normally draws 15.1 amps to run.) I think the 15.5k Btu model draws a couple more amps.

It’s flawed design.The thing that tells it’s air temp is in roof unit not at thermostat .Total wrong place for furnace.And fan keeps running when coolness is reached. That jam nut is a great idea.
@ktoutdoor
@ktoutdoor Жыл бұрын
Not flawed at all if you use the wire harness adapter and use the colman control box and original thermostat. This way it uses the sensor in the original thermostat mounted in the hallway.
