Hey Lon, this is great information. I'd like to point out that although the DOCSIS 3.0 standard is for 1 Gbps, the actual through put of many DOCSIS modems is under 200 Mbps. My old DOCSIS 3.0 Motorola Surfboard SB6120 was only capable of 160 Mbps and I was getting more like 125 Mbps from Comcast, even though my service was supposed to be 300 Mbps. I upgraded to a newer DOCSIS 3.1 Arris Surfboard S33 modem and now I'm getting the full 300 Mbps from my Comcast connection.
