Looks insanely good! I really like how the light kit comes with both usb / power socket and black/ white tubing options. The front dashboard also looks very nice 👍

At @8:39 i think, what do you think about wire harness splitting into that blue harness
@garrick_ish
@garrick_ish Жыл бұрын
Hmmmm, Blue Harness is the Canbus, which transfers data to OBD receptacles: S3XY Buttons, Rear Screens and etc. The question is, is there enough voltage/amps that can power the Lights.

@@garrick_ish that’s awesome. For the wiring do you just run the cable into the front center console instead? Also, do you recommend a 3ft cable since it’s closer?
@garrick_ish
@garrick_ish Жыл бұрын
@jackthecat95 So I ran the cable to the two QI chargers and tuck it and run it right or left (Doesnt matter) and run it under the center console into Front Center Console where my USB hub would be. I play it safe and go with a 6ft cable. I rather have a little extra slack than be tight. Just be sure the follow the instructions in my videos and you should be good! Don't forget to click on my links for the items! It helps supports the channel. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

@@garrick_ish I guess I’m a little confused. I’m only referring to the radar detector wiring. Do I just ran the cable from the radar to the front center console? I don’t see how I would have to run it to the main console and then make it go to the front center console. Thank you for answering so fast!

@jackthecat95 Do you have a model Y? If so, you can follow these directions below At the 10:32 timeline and Stop it at 10:40 timeline, this is what i was talking about. Tuck it between the QI Charging Pad kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZbFXpmnh6iheZosi=Sf-YC2y4yag-ufT1&t=630 THEN DO THIS NEXT At the 5:38 TImeline - You are to take out the panel where the USBC Chargers are kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6q6c2iaq8itnNksi=Og7qvIxVIJ0LspUr&t=336 THEN DO THIS NEXT At the the 928 Timeline - You are to take to run the wires through the center console. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6q6c2iaq8itnNksi=N4wx4mDOsnipyWRO&t=565 I Hope this helps!

@@garrick_ish n. Just power the existing lights in a standard range model 3. In best case a diode from +12V from a point which is powered when vehicle is on (58L?). Just if you know the numbers in cars (12V_Battery is 30, Light is 58, Ground is 15 and so on) .

I installed this as well after watching the video. I didnt go the USB route because it couldnt hold the 5v after ~30min. It reduced to 2.5v after 30min, which means something got hot - the USB-A connector. It can't hold 1Amp of current for long use (entire thing consumes 5W of power). I went with 12v, which reduced the current flow to .3-.4 amps. Nothing got hot even after an hour of testing. If you want to use the USB socket, i suggest turning it off after 20-30min of use.

Possibly you could mount the light tube onto the backside of the wood panel. But give a day and it should settle in perfectly. I had a friend that has a Model Y and we went out yesterday and he didn't even notice the tube at all until I showed it to him.

oh i like the USB.. 1. the lights automatically come on when you enter the car? 2. when the car locks the lights go off?
@garrick_ish
@garrick_ish Жыл бұрын
Well, it depends. If the car is not in Sentry Mode, it should turn off automatically after the car goes to sleep. My Tesla is in Sentry mode most of the time. That is why I have the USB hub with on and off switches to turn it on and off.

@@garrick_ish thanks.. sorry I just got my 23MYP last week and I do have sentry mode on. so u are saying u DO have to turn it off/on still via the hub?
@addondesign
@addondesign Жыл бұрын
@@FITBOYGAMING These are the 4 ways to turn on/off the lights. 1. pressing the power source button/ USB hub 2. “On/Off" using app 3. schedule "On/Off time" through the app 4. Auto off when your car goes into sleep mode and ON when it awakens (off time varies by model) Immediate Auto on/off will require tapping into wires and it will void your Tesla warranty. Thank you for your enquiry!
