Hi, great informative video of how to utilise what you have by means of updating, I have a much cherished Bachmann class 46 RTC livery loco that is part of my collection of RTC items, I’ve upgraded the main pcb to 21 pin and fitted factory lighting with great parts from Bachmann’s very good spares department, the cab lighting was a bit finicky but it’s sorted and working, the chassis isn’t the best design for a really big speaker so I have to see which one to fit when I get the Legomanbiffo sound for it along with a few others I want to fit sound into that I have. Those older locomotives are very good when you get you hands on a good example, I was very impressed with the Bachmann class 57 ‘Porterbrook’ livery model I managed to get for a great price a while ago, I wonder if the next Bachmann announcement on August 7th will contain a newly tooled class 37 in Network Rail yellow livery and maybe the silver livery Europhoenix model, I wait to see what liveries will be released for the updated class 08 announced a few months ago, I have directional lighting to fit into a few class 08’s I have as well, keep safe and well, thanks for sharing.

@@StormmyStormmy thank you yes the older bachmann loco with a little tweeking are as good as the news I have a few spare parts acquired over the years so the next thing would be to fit a 21 pin board, but the body on the old 66 doesn't have the recess in the roof so some modifications may be needed 😉 again thank you 😀

@@danielbonham9336 Sounds like a very good project, if or when you contact the spare department they have great knowledge if a board can be upgraded, when you do upgrade from 8 to 21 pin pin out the wiring from the decoder connector and not what it states on the pcb, I had issues on the one I did on the class 46 until I studied the decoder socket, I also wired the cab lighting off the pcb which was made easier with a extremely thin tipped soldering iron tip, I’m building a single car windhoff mpv vehicle at the moment and hope to complete it in the coming weeks when I get all the necessary parts.

nice work, like what you've done, would tweaking the CV's cure the juddering when she pulls away ?

@@Bassetvids I'm not sure as when change anything on the tts decoder it stops working, reset and it works again 🤔

Hi there. I have also done the bogie conversion on one of my older Bachmann class 37s, as it also gives 12 wheel drive. With regard to the slow running, try changing CV 150 to 1, this cures a lot of the juddering.

Hi just checked and the cv150 is already on 1 , so if you another idea that would be appreciated thank you for uour info

Hi, can you check that the loco is running ok on DC now that it has new bogies. This will rule out any issues with the mechanism. The next thing to try would be resetting the decoder to factory. Put 8 into CV 8. This will also put the loco address back to 3. Try the loco again and if still juddering, change the following CVs... CV150 = 1 CV 153 = 100 CV 154 = 1 If this still doesn't work, change the value of cv153 to 200 and try again. If it still doesn't work, try changing CVs 153 and 154 between 1 and 255 at steps of approx 50, but only change one at a time, then test. When you get close to smooth, you can tweak the values until it gets worse, then roll it back to the better value. It takes me about 20 minutes per loco to find a decent mix of values. Good luck.
