Oh and use opencore WOW, what a difference that makes now to these older iMac's with the latest macos that can be installed on them!!!

Yes I agree!!! Great video but wouldn't spend the time replacing the hard drive or ram. On those machines now just installing an external SSD in a external HD case makes all the difference without the hassle and time. The internal HD can be used for storage since it's 1TB. I also installed windows 7 on mine to play older pc games from my childhood and man do they play well, then I can just put it way for another day have a great one keep up the great work love your videos!!!!

Could this help you get your software update past IOS 10.5??

It could, however if you have this exact model of iMac it should update past 10.5 without any upgrades.

@@CircuitSphereUT I have that model but it just says that my Mac is up to date, it doesn’t let me update it at all.

This particular mac will not upgrade past macOS Catalina version 10.15.7. I just updated mine today cost $380. Great video but I am not as technically nimble.

Search for OpenCore Legacy , Upgrade macOS on unsupported macs , but for best results make sure you have at least 16gb ram and a decent ssd upgrade done on it.
