Can you do every build of macOS?
@NTDEV4 жыл бұрын
It's pretty hard, if not impossible, due to the fact that macOS went through 3 (soon to be 4) architectural changes - it first used the Motorola 68k processor, then PowerPC, and now x86. On the other hand, the PC used the x86 platform since it's inception, so all the programs/operating systems still work as intended even on modern computers. So, TL;DR - Macs cannot be upgraded as easily (I mean, from versions before 10.4) due to the fact that before 2005 it used a completely different architecture.

Im not sure I understand how this is an 'experiment' . What were you expecting, what did you learn? Surely you could say more than just "not alot" and "it is upgradeable" .
@NTDEV4 жыл бұрын
Well, first of all, I got to check out all Windows builds, with some features that were never actually released to the public. Secondly, we can have a look at the evolution of Windows (or rather Windows Setup), and check out some design quirks that are unique. Also, if you look at my conclusion video, you can see that I found quite a lot of interesting stuff, including a TV guide from 2006, some album art for some unknown artist (at least for me) and lots of debugging software and readme files and mailer names and internal accounts and all of this kind of stuff... I also made this experiment more for entertaining purposes, as I knew from the beginning that while the final product will certainly be interesting, the lessons that can be taken from it... Not so much. Just think of this video as a heavily souped up "upgrading every version of Windows" kind... :)
