I changed my fork travel from 100 to 120 on my 2014 gt karakoram. I added an angled headset (1,5°) to lower the front a bit. It works well. Cost: around 60 euros, from Great Britain.

When you get to California, the Parliament trail system above Nevada City, is part of the larger Harmony Ridge, trail area. Everything from downhill to cross country in this area. Plus the best part of California gold country.

I’m in Prince George BC and while I love the local biking around town I have to mention Valemount BC as THE top spot I’ve ever biked. Check out The Loam Rangers video on it for more info. Amazing town, incredible views and close to tons of other spectacular parks and fun. Also the town itself is tiny compared to Whistler so it’s much less expensive, crowded and intimidating. On the off chance you swing through Prince George I’ll buy you a beer and give you the local bike park tour :) Above all have fun! PS: No smoke yet. You picked a good June to visit!

You may want to check out the shimano deore 5100 11 speed drivetrain 11-51t. Goes on normal shimano hubs

What is Dura-XT ? It's Deore XT. XTR is Dura-Ace level while XT is Ultegra level. It's definitely not called Dura-XT.

Yeah. That's what I took off there. Like a said in the vid, gx would of been good, but a bit pricey. I don't really rate NX or SX. Too temperamental.

@juliangoulding i was suggesting to use a nx cassette with shimano xt meck and shifter. So you could keep your rear wheel and keep the price down. I know they don't mesh 100% but how much for a rear wheel?
