Today I bring you along for some tank maintenance, go over some updates for the Queen's Cove and attempt to scape a new tank for my fancy goldfish.

Floating plants are duckweed (the tiny ones), salvinia (small leaves), and amazon frogbit (the biggest leaves) 😊

A good idea for your extra floating plants is to throw them in the goldfish tank free food!

I've watched the video 4 times now- last comment 🤐 everything they eat is gonna be poop you have to water change out. "Snacks" should be their diet or a super high nutrition omnivore food (Joey knows all that) or proteins. Bloodworm for example I feed as protein. They poop less when they absorb everything they eat. Plants are a laxative/ digestive aid. Little things like that can make your life a lot easier- trust me. I WILL stop now and wait for a makeup video. ♥️

Just be careful and plug your stuff back in. I think a lot of us have forgotten to plug our stuff back in and either killed or almost killed our fish, so be careful and remember to plug it back in. If you start doing multiple tanks and you can lose track..😮😢 And you can get some bristlenose plecos and start putting them in a bunch of your tanks they don't harm anything and they do eat algae very good.. they come in a few varieties like albino, spotted, and longfin..

I feel like less is more when it comes to rocks. And then add some different smaller sizes, like, pebbles around the larger rocks to bring it all in.

I was already thinking, before Joey helped out, to sit the big rock on it's end then after he did that, I'm like support it with another rock but make sure the structure is stable!...right before it fell lol. I did prefer his placement of the rocks. It looked a bit odd before..huge rocks then the little ones spread in front but whose to say you don't see that in nature. That might be a good point about the goldfish fins. I don't have fancy goldfish but do have a flowy finned betta. I'm not a plastic plant fan but have a more natural looking one I like except I won't use it in his side of the tank because it has some pointy bits and being plastic, it's not soft.

Those teny tiny floating plants are not frogbit they are duck weed and the cupcake and muffin would absolutely love to eat them.

Nice set up. I would paint the backside of the goldfisch tank or do a foliage. Duckweed is a good food for them😂 salvinia will may survive.

They’re so cute. ❤ I have a soft spot for fancy goldfish. 😍 I have 3 in a planted tank, goldfish detritus really helps with live plant growth because they’re tubby little poop machines.😂 T the smallest floating plant is duckweed give it to your goldfish they’ll absolutely love it and it’s good for their digestive system too. I have it growing out in other tanks, then went it’s need slimming down I feed it to them. It won’t last the day if they’re anything like mine 🐽 lol 😆

@@ADayWithT I have lots of jungle vals covering about half of their tank, they always send new baby plant shoots out. My fish love swimming in them and also spawn on them too when I don’t have a yarn mop in there at the right moment. 😄 I put little pebbles around the plant bases to stop them digging up roots. I also have horn wart mixed in, but they occasionally peck at it. But the few kinds of floating plants I had they did eat or damage so I don’t keep them in there anymore. I just feed them duckweed occasionally instead. I really hope you get more fancy goldfish in with yours and start them breeding…it’s so much fun looking after and raising fry. You don’t need to have years of fish keeping experience, just do some research and you are go to go..plus, you have Joey there with lots knowledge. Lots of baby cupcakes and muffins would be so adorable. 🥰 😊

Nice final rock formation. I know Joey likes fake plants, however in my opinion, fake plants in general ruins it. See the difference between your Blue acara tank (great scape) vs a tank with fake plants. Even the tank next to the new Goldfish tank with only the rocks looks really nice, since there are no fake plants.

I use fake plants. You can redo the tank anytime if you're bored. Personally I love that look. It's modern, not natural. A creative choice though.

I enjoyed this video. Love Muffin and Cupcake. I believe your blue acara's may have been displaying breeding behavior. The rocks you removed might have been where they might have laid their eggs. Just thought i might mention it. I'm no expert though. I also think the new tank for your beautiful goldfish is perfect for them!. Looks so great too!

Personally wouldn't add anymore Golden carp, if they are legal in Canada, look at maybe a pair of Weather (Dojo/Pond) loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus) wild, golden mutations. If you want something smaller to dither about look at Rosy barbs (Pethia conchonius) they come in a couple mutations and long fin, IMO they look like little Golden carp.

Golden carp are you referring to the goldfish? Slight difference in translation (US). I've heard dojo loaches suggested as tank mates also but never kept them. There is no room for another oranda. They are not fully grown themselves. I don't know if they are Thai, Chinese or giants. 10 inches should be allotted

@@JaymePaladino Yes i call "Goldfish" Golden carp the translation of there scientific name (Carassius auratus), Auratus = Golden, Carassius = Carp, derived from Karausche, a kind of Carp. Like all the other members of the genus Carassius are referred to as carp, like Crucian carp (Carassius carassius), Nigorobuna carp (Carassius cuvieri), Gibel carp (Carassius gibelio), Ginbuna carp (Carassius langsdorfii), Nam-Chat carp (Carassius praecipuus). They are all of course fish but Carp is more specific to the family placement.

this might help as you learn T, For scaping like what you were working on, the reason it probably looked off to you is you did a very easy mistake, You did big rocks in the back, medium rocks in the middle and small rocks in front and all kinda spread out. When Joey came and helped you, he changed it so that not only where they all more connected but it didn't look like they were separated by size. it made them more connected and less "uniform" which is all it needed! You will learn as you keep doing scapes! so keep practicing cause you have some nice ideas!
