couple comments: 1, the stock paste is SUPPOSED to be dry. its specialized stuff for servers and (from what I remember, other people can correct me on this) its a type that changes under heat. not the same as PTM by honeywell, but same concept. 2, thermal pad residue is perfectly fine. its so thin that it wont make a difference.

is it really? i always thought that the paste was suppose to be on the wet side. i did not know that. ty
@scarecrow584816 күн бұрын
@@Torrent329 it can honestly depend. not all pastes are the same. even nvidias OEM paste is adjacent to this (again off the top of my head/what ive seen.)

Hey, thanks for this very instructive video! To answer some of your questions: The included key is not an allen key but a torx one and it fits the original screws (not everyone owns a T6 and T8 driver). My screws are all phillips, which I guess most people own a driver for. The bend in the bracket that holds the heatsink is totally normal and is used to create pressure between the chip and heatsink.

Thank you! was so confused! 🙂 btw - love the heat sink!

@@Torrent329are you interested in selling the original shroud / fan?

I really like how you included the torx tool in your kit, that is super handy.

Its supposed to be bent because it applies tension on top of the gpu core. Also i would not use anything lower that 90 percent alcohol. That 70 percent has 30 percent water in it. That can short your components out.
@sg.johnlim10 күн бұрын
Yup. Mine was bend too went I took it out.

That custom cooler looks epic, Very nice little build. I couldn't help but notice that windows seems rather sluggish though, Or is that purely the capture device/camera you're using making it appear that way?
@adrianomuller356917 күн бұрын
That is a monster build!

Why would anyone need so much horsepower for Plex ? (at least for personal use) I am running Emby on Unraid, dockerized and I use a 1660 Ti shared across all dockers, and still, I'm serving 30-40 of my friends on Emby without an issue at 1080p. Unless you are hosting a server for tens or hundreds of people, why else would this be necessary ?

My guy, you can say whatever you like. It's tiring seeing all these videos by so many creators that act like everything has to be 100% PG 100% of the time. I work in the auto trade. Every day is HR violations (if our HR was actually that uptight. She's friggin awesome!) Words are just words. The world needs to stop acting like it's gonna end because somebody said "fuck"

Can Gpu temperature be improved by adding liquid metal? Or the cooler/gpu construction does not wallow that?

How loud is the new cooler? The stock one is like a airplane turbine...
@Torrent32916 күн бұрын
not Loud at all, i turned up the fans in MSI afterburner to 100% and it absolutely fine
@akshatsingh983015 күн бұрын
stock one is loud bcoz it is workstation / data center type of card hence it has that type of fan curve by default
