Thanks Ricardo I appreciate it!!! I like it a lot and it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than from the dealer. However there are a few things I’d expect to better which I can fix one I have more time. The microphone isn’t good or maybe I hooked it up incorrectly but I have to scream in order for it to pick up my voice. Sometimes car play connection glitches via Bluetooth it’s maybe 1/20 drives but it occurred a few times for me. The volume of CarPlay is lower than the volume of the regular radio, can’t figure out how to fix that. Would I get this again instead of spending the money at the dealer? Yes I would get it again and save the money

But I only found out about the unit from 4x4 when I came across your video due to my sos issue. My deadline is the 15 day return policy from Best Buy lol

the ere is 2 sets of brown white wires on the stock harness and you cut and splice the two brown wires together and the same with the 2 white wires. This is mic in/out and this will fix the issue and allow sos to still work...

Thanks for the great install video! Getting the backup camera connected was a pain, but I got it working. Are your physical buttons backlit? Mine are not, and I’m not sure if it’s by design or if I missed a connection.

Turns out I just needed to connect the ILL (blue cable) to the ACC (red cable). Backlit buttons work now

Quick question I have the same 1920 stereo on my van, and thinking to do the same setup as yours. My question is when I put it in reverse the little screen on my rear view mirror doesn’t have guidance lines , does yours? I see that the inav has it was that just automatically on there or does it have to be programmed in? TIA

hi there, my current 2021 sprinter the small mirror back up camera doesnt show the tires pathway turn when i am in reverse, did your before hand and then when you uprgraded that option showed up? curious did the display improve the quality of the back up image fromthe old mirror? or was it still kinda grainy? thanks for your input

The quality is still grainy, since the camera isn’t HD. I can’t remember if the tire paths turned or not, sorry!

Good afternoon again some information on the radio install did you change the speakers and if you did what did you change them to? I change mine to JBL GTO629 having a problem with them volume set at 16 starting to get static. The radio company does not know why what are your issues?

if you can add a OEM volume control on the back cover area of your steering wheel and linked them then that would be a perfect solution.

Wondering if you could help me out 4 x 4 shop is very slow with emails. It seems like you get one per day. Back to work on this radio after a week off I have the radio fully installed. Thank you very much. Your videos were great. Had absolutely zero issues with any of it. Now is the hard part programming Apple play was simple to get the video for the reverse camera. Took an email got the information from 4 x 4 that was good. Now I am into the GPS setting the time which should be simple or the date have no clue how to do this. Pull the vehicle outside to see if it would hook up the GPS and thought maybe that would set the time I do have Wi-Fi in the shop so we connected it to that and that did not help with the time date temperature Also need to change Fahrenheit to Celsius no issue on how to do that. Wondering if you got a set of instructions with this radio I did not. Thanks again for this long report on the radio. Appreciate any feedback.

Turning off the SOS light will most likely be a dealer reset, possibly a software update too. Online it says there have been issues with the SOS system in the U.S. with vehicles from 2016 until 2021, giving the wrong emergency location (which was not the case with your system obviously LOL) and only a software update will solve that.

It's not as loud with CarPlay compared to the normal radio. Is that the same for you?

@@MathersOnTheMap I have not done the modification yet, but the stock radio is terrible for sound quality. I was hoping this radio was an improvement over stock or had more watts per channel. I know the stock speakers are junk too, so I'm curious if changing both is the ticket??

HIi, what is the deal with the handsfree mic ? I installed 3 different mics and it appears there is no noise cancellilaton. Everyone I talk to says it sounds like a jet engine is inside the sprinter. The buttons are really cheap and they do not illuminate. For the money I am going to install a Kenwood and I can actually use the phone and carplay while I am driving as no one can hear me... I wonder why once you installed your you did not give it a fair review? Pro Car Audio installer

Hmm that’s a tough one John we never did a live stream. I’m guessing KZbin would be a good source since it’s Free, I think your phones camera and mic will likely be better than a computer’s webcam? Sorry I’m not too much help here

Have the same problem it’s been a year and mentally I can’t deal with it. It has something to do with disconnecting the old microphone which is also why you can’t talk back. Maybe when you fix it you can tell me. Lol

I just spoke to my car stereo guy he says there’s no interface he’s aware of. He says the only way is to hook up the old radio and hide it somewhere. That’s why he does on Volvos. Maybe he’s wrong if you find a way and let me know.

Don't bother with this unit, it is crap. It worked intermittently for about 6 months, now its totally dead and I have no back up camera. I bought one from 4x4 Shop Canada and they have taken absolutely forever to help me. They take a full day to email back and have asked the most basic questions each time. I'm two weeks in and we haven;t gotten anywhere. Now they want me to send them a picture to verify it is plugged in correctly. If I was able to install it and it worked for 6 months I think its safe to say its plugged in. Its cheap Chinese junk, don't buy it. BTW, pro tip, don't abandon your original back up camera, but tie the new one into the system so if the camera you are adding fails you still have the stock one.

I have installed similar to this but I ordered from Ali express , since I installed my van (2019 sprinter ) doesn’t shift properly in 2nd-3d gear it vibrates. Do you think is related with this unit? It doesn’t happen all the time
