When you have leftover ore in the crucibel just make a template sword or dagger with small pomel and guard bar and pour it only into the guard and pomel. You can then remove them and pour again until you run out. Its never a bad idea to have extra pomels and guards since they get stored un the chest next to the ore stand and you can use them on any future builds to avoid spending extra ores

Also you can leave the forge slightly open so you can constantly check temperature and melting of ores, it does heat up a bit slower but barely noticeable and helps control ore quality as it doesn't overheat as quickly. Also when working with new ore always check the book first for melting temp. If you go too high it degrades ore quality faster.

For what its worth, Gold weapons sell for about the same as Moraka and are easier to smelt/hammer. Also, the weapons further down the skill tree like halberds, maces, hammers and axes are way faster to make.

28:30 you can just "e" out of the quench, you don't need to wait. You can even "assemble" items that are 750C.

I would try to get the container as hot as it can get before putting either one of the ores in, so both melt at the same time and your gold won't be burning while you're still trying to get it hotter. Or wait until the ore that needs to be hotter is melted then add the other for the alloys.

I wonder if you could heat the metal with the higher melting temp then possibly drop in the chunks of lower temp ore to reduce the degradation of the end result.

i have tried this and it makes junk metal. they melt at different times and the incorrect ratio sets the quality to zero. alloying is such a pain that i just accept the 5-6% loss in quality from heating them all together at once.

Making alloys is almost always better. The alloy that uses gold for example is only a little cheaper when selling than gold, but the materials used yield more, so you can craft more weapons that way for more profit

The kids only throw away completed weapons left on the ground, lathed handles, pommels and guards, along with forged blades are kept in the chest, wood pile, and on the crate across from the chest.

The eastern perk will probably give you better bits, but I've seen a few bits that you can use to make a super basic Katana. You can use Blade 0, and Point 8, then leave the ends but bend the center to a gentle curve and it should be a Psudo-Katana. I tihnk there was another blade I saw but that might be an unlock, can't remember. :P

6:38 when hammer it doesn't matter 99%red or 99% white both are 99% (you can easily check this when viewing the weapon when done it will still say 99% regardless if it was in red or white) NOW assembling the parts the game forces you to go into the red which leads some people to believe for hammer you have to go into the red too, thats just wrong on the assembly table it does that and to quote the dev "This is a precaution we’ve implemented to ensure that the parts fit together seamlessly without gaps or misalignment." in other words its just like that to fix a visual error/bug

@Grillmastah I believe you need to purchase a training dummy to test the weapons on to figure out what the piercing rate is. Could be wrong but just something I heard from other streamers. Awesome content by the way, I love watching stuff like this

Haven't finished the vid yet, but the next biggest question is if you can mix and match metals for a build. Having like, Iron for the blade so it's tough, copper for the pommel because it's easy to work with, and gold for the guard because it's pretty. heh. And, Even if you don't change a handle's appearance I'd at least shave off the bark so it looks presentable. But that's just me.

Check the chest by your ores for guards/pommels you haven't used after a reload. Unused Blades will be on top of the box beside the wood stocks. Only Finished weapons that are not put on a save or sell rack will be lost

I also use this knowledge to make multiple bars from the same design to get the most out of my ore, and then I spend most of the day hammering everything out

it's so expensive! i saved my game first and tried it out. it was like 150k to get a warrior and give them armor. i gave them a magic sword that had 300+ damage and the sword snapped during the fight and they died.

Ore quantity is down because the longer you have heat on a ore the lower it gets u need to mix the melted ore faster

I would try to do the whole sword to 90 then let it cool and final shape to 100 with it being a low temp, then reheat for the quench
