yes it would be cheaper and cost effective if you just buy a second 8GB fast ram. However, the 32GB RAM will not be that effective when it comes to gaming, but more for productivity and perhaps more chrome tabs!

If you want to increase FPS i'd imagine thats a graphics card issue though im not sure why you'd be getting FPS issues with one of the TUFs, mines run fine on fairly high settings.

@@jackngrill1758 My TUF since i last commented has developed an issue where it crashes constantly so I can't really comment on newer stuff. *however* when it did work properly i was running 60fps+ on cyberpunk on mid to high settings. That said i swapped the base 8gb ram to a 16gb in my TUF.

It's not advisable to mix different RAM together as the timing is not the same between the two. However, we do understand that many laptops have one soldered RAM and only one more slot of RAM that is user serviceable. Adding another 8GB 3200MHz is economical, though.

ASUS TUF A15 is not soldered. Both RAMs are upgradable. The RAM speed is not the only factor, but there are RAM sub-timings to consider as well. I think you can just add another RAM this time around, it should be smart enough to adjust the timings to match both RAMs.

From what I understand... if I want to use the second DDR slot but also keep the 8GB original from Micron I would need to look after 16GB to be JEDEC 3200MHz compatible or so... but how do I get that info? As I bearly understand it, other than to look after 1.2V and CL22 3200MHz memories I don'tknow what to do and I understand (from some reads on reddit) that this build only accepts 3200MHz JEDEC compatible memories but I don't really know what this means and for what specs I need to look after while getting the proper RAMs that would go 3200MHz and not lower...

The Asus A15 TUF original 2 X 8gb sticks both have a sticker heat shield on each side. Should we peel off the sticker shields and install them on the new RAM before the installation? They look like some kind of insulation stickers. Are they necessary?

It should be automatically following the JEDEC specs, depending on what your motherboard's chipset support. It should automatically set to the maximum specs that JEDEC allows, so you can check it out at the task manager to see what speed you're getting.

So I bought an Aus TUF Gaming A15 too with 8GB's of RAM but I upgraded it with an another 16GB 3000mhz CL16 ram module, wich is one of the fastest I can buy. The problem is that is doesn't run on that frequency and latency what I bought, same with the stock one. It runs on 2666(1333)Mhz and CL 20 and the stock on 3200(1600)Mhz and CL 22 what is really slow. I've tested it with only the stock and only with the new ram, but the speed stays the same. There is no way in the bios to change the frequency and the latency. Is there any chance I can speed it up?

Unfortunately, no. Laptops are always like this - the RAM speed will be locked down to one speed and that's it. Can't change it in BIOS like desktops can.

When I installed the new RAM, I found the pre-existing 2 X 8 GB sticks came with a double sided shielding, 2 thick, grey stickers sandwiching each RAM stick. I think the shielding might be included to protect the RAM from heat? I noticed you didn't install any shielding on the new RAM in the video. Do you think it's important? I left it out. Thoughts?

Thanks! And to answer that question is quite difficult. While this laptop is highly compatible with many different laptops, it still depends on how picky your specific laptop is. Unfortunately, there's no QVL (qualified vendor list) from the RAM or laptop manufacturers. In our case here, we actually went in blind without knowing if the RAM is compatible with the laptop or not lol.

Same issue here, I know thats'a problem. People is buying 3200 Mhz RAMs but they are running at 2666 because of some configuration incompatibility between certain RAMs and the laptop. Someone on Reddit told me this would work: Crucial 8GB DDR4 3200 MT/s (PC4-25600) SODIMM 260-Pin Memory - CT8G4SFRA32A. In the crucial website it says this ram is supposed to be made specifically for Asus TUF A15. And I also did a lot of research. It seems like the RAM that originally comes with our Asus A15 is that same reference by Micron, and Crucial is owned by Micron. So I think this RAM could actually be the exact same that comes with the stock laptop. I'm thinking of buying it so I won't have to buy two rams. My plan B is to buy what someone else found that worked. Like this guy on this video. Hope I helped. Edit: Yes it worked perfectly.

if you want to take out the initial SSD that windows is installed on then you will need to set up windows again from a USB on the new SSD that you will install. Although this laptop comes with a second M.2 SSD slot to use, so there would be no need to install your windows OS again. Also installing new RAM wont require you to boot windows from a USB :)

Are you asking 3200mhz?.....if yes....you can use 32GB of 3200mhz RAM in AMD 4000 series mobile CPU (nothing but laptop CPU) laptops. Like asus tuf gaming a15 laptops...but keep in mind that maximum memory capacity is based on your brand and motherboard. So research about maximum memory supported in your laptop then buy and install 32GB of RAM

I have the R9 4900H 1660ti version because the 2060 version wasn't available in my country when I bought it. Keyboard feels great, the body of the laptop feels great, it looks great and isn't as bulky as a regular gaming laptop. The ssd it came with is great, boots up in 5 seconds.

You need to check with your local Asus rep. In Malaysia, they allow users to upgrade the RAM without voiding the warranty

The A15 we used comes with R7-4800H, 8GB, 1660Ti and 512GB SSD. Yes there are extra slot for M.2 SSD and also 2.5-inch drive.

I'm sorry to hear about your previous laptop. If you're adding another stick of RAM, try to get the exact same one that is pre-installed into the laptop.

You can mix 8GB 3200MHz and 16GB 2400MHz, the laptop will still turn on. However you will slow down the faster 8GB RAM.
