Thanks this was great, it’s answered almost all of my questions. I’m mainly interested in this for travel, as one of the other responders said I’m pretty green lol. I was wondering once I figure out how to set up my my mobile router can I connect the Roku to it rather than the hotel?

Yes, you can have it connected to the mobile router for your WiFi, but the HDMI will have to be plugged into the hotel TV. Some hotels have gotten annoying and made it so you can't plug in a HDMI cable, but it still works at most place when I travel. It really works great at AirBnB locations too.

Thank you for your video. Do you know how strong is the sensor of the remote control? You said you are hiding the wires at the back. Does this impact the remote control to sense the signal? I have a MI stick and it forces me to expose the USB receiver to the front or else the MI remote stick does not pick up the buttons I press. If this works I will get a Roku.

I have it plugged into the back of the TV and typically use the USB outlet to power it if the TV has one. So the whole unit is hidden and I don't ever have issues with the remote control.

With the Roku streaming stick do you need to have another wi-fi service such as Xfinity or will this take the place so you have wi-fi for your devices.

You have to have an internet connection with WiFi for the device to work. It connects to streaming services via the internet.

You use the device to access streaming services like Netflix, Amazon, Max, etc. It has 100s of apps you can download, so require subscriptions and others are free. Basically it turns your TV into a smart TV.

Hello, What I would have liked to know is the actual listening time. Is it possible to listen to music for 18 hours non-stop at 50% volume? If I understood you correctly, these headphones are multipoint. Multipoint Bluetooth, you can use your work laptop to listen to your show while staying on top of all the work notifications coming through your phone, all with just one headset. No it doesn't matter if you have an older TV as the hardware is on the device, but you do need to connect it via an HDMI and your home WiFi.

For College/University Dorms Roku is allowed on the wifi. Chromecast ones are not allowed.

Yes, unless you want to unplug the device and move it from TV to TV...which you could easily do.

We had an older song HD TV and up dated to a LG G4 TV. We have a older Roku stick we plan on dating to the 4K streaming stick so we’re interested in will we have to reload all the channels and sign or will our channels come over to the new Roku 4K Streaming Stick?

If you are signed in with a Roku account all your apps should reinstall if you approve the new device to do so. You will have to resign into all the individual apps, i.e. Netflix, Disney+, etc.

Yes, if your phone has a hotspot feature and a T-Mobile plan that allows you to do so. The device just uses standard WiFi, so it does not matter if it is your phone or the campground WiFi. I can't really answer the which is best, because that will depend on how strong the WiFi is and how fast the download speeds are from the service provider. That part has nothing to do with Roku, but instead with the internet provider.

No dumb questions :-) I do bring the remote, power cord and device when I travel...put it all in a little cosmetic bag. However if you forget the remote you can use the app on your phone to control it.

It needs to connect to the internet, but it is not like a cell phone. So if you have an existing WiFi or travel to a place with free WiFi it can connect that way. We take it with us when we travel so we can watch Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, etc.

I just got my ROKU 4K yesterday. 9/30/2023. I can't set it up. It stops with error code 022. I am waiting for the extension cable so that I can plug into the other HDMI port. Frustrating.

No, you just add whatever apps or services you subscribe to. If you don't have any subscriptions, like Netflix for example they do have some free content on Roku or other free apps.

If you want to move the stick from TV to TV the answer would be no, but otherwise you would get a Roku for each TV and just use the same account info on all your apps.

Hey hi mine son bought me a roku tv for my birthday this year. but I live in a rv park. i can get connected to the wifi from the park, since the router is in the park office i get connected for streaming for free. but when I get connected sometimes I can be able to watch movies. so my question to you if I buy this product can ill be able to plug it to my tv and watch movies for free or do I need to have private internet like t-mobile or any others? do I need to pay??? thank you for your updates on this devices.

It is going to work like your Roku TV. It sounds like you have a weak signal from connecting to the office WiFi and this won't solve those issues.

Would that work? because yesterday I watched like 4 to 5 movies, no problem. But is because people are living the park, so there's more signal. but if I need to get internet I'll will have to do it. @@milagrosmogro49 Sounds like your issue is internet speeds, which are affected by several factors. Having a lot of people on the same wifi all using the data will for sure cause issues, which most likely is why it has been working if people are leaving. It can also be affected by signal strength which would maybe improve with that wifi booster (assuming you have admin controls to use that booster). Another aspect could be the park does not pay for fast internet speeds either. These would be questions you would have to ask the internet provider or someone local.

If you are getting a poor signal or it is disconnecting it most likely is the WiFi speed or you don't have a great signal.

The remote you are using is not the remote that I was sent in my Roku Streaming stick 4K. Does yours have a button inside the battery compartment & a dark see through plastic at the back top of the remote? Mine does not.

Yes, mine has both of those. They do change up the remotes, so maybe you have a pre 2023 version. I have the Ultra also and that remote is not the same as this one.

No, it will work on non-4K TVs. It just supports upto 4K content if you have that. Not all the apps do 4k content either. For example Netflix only has 4K content for their top tier pricing package.
