The most important thing about this pump (that I forgot to mention) is that it can run multiple freeze dryers using 1 single pump! We now sell the setup kit to do so in our freeze drying store www.freezedryingsupplies.com

It’s a commercial grade pump designed for continuous use for years and years. It has to to reliable so in that regard its worth every penny.

You can also use most vane air compressors, just hook up to the inlet instead of the outlet. 😇

I just setup my large harvest right fd. I went through the first steps to test it (not the bread run yet), and the oil in the pump dropped to a little bit above minimum. I started out halfway between minimum and maximum like the manual said, but it immediately dropped significantly when the pump turned on. The manual states that it is supposed to be in the middle the entire time, or it could ruin the pump. It said that I should add more, so I did. Now, once it cooled off, it's almost to the maximum. I'm afraid it will come out of the demister when I do my bread run. Do you think I should drain some to halfway, and not worry about it dropping when it turns on, or should I leave it almost to the maximum, so when it comes on, it will drop to halfway? It's so hard to get answers from HR. Thank you for all your help. I bought a couple of things from your store.

Fill a cold pump halfway and do not add more. It's just like a car in the sense that, when it's running the oil is moving throughout the pump. Just like you would not check the oil on a running engine because it will give a false reading.

Super helpful. I am curious if this will significantly alter the resulting product, or save time in any meaningful way tho.

I'm curious if it would be possible to hook up one pump to multiple machines in some ways. I'm not familiar with freeze drying cycles yet, I assume the pump is not running all the time ? If you could sync up the machines, maybe vacuum seal them at the same time. Or maybe it's better to do it out of sync like one machine at a time with proper electronics and plumbing. Could help save on cost, but ofc if it breaks you have a really bad day :P

Welp, decided to look at the video you referenced from EpicenterBryan and it's exactly that. 3 machine one pump, nice to know !

Motor is noisy on start up for about 4 minutes. Can you lube this in anyway or is the motor brushes going bad. Freeze dryer is 2 years old. Does room temperature effect it?

Quick question... does anyone have a surge protector for their Harvest Right and is there any that you recommend?

can you use a vacuum sealer with the normal role of bags for long term storage for freeze dryed food?

You sure can.

The pump is not a 7cfm rated. How does this impact the software in the HR?
@thefreezedryingcommunity10 ай бұрын
The software is looking for Mtorr measurements and is not affected by the pump cfm

Looking for some help. I think my pump is not working correctly. I am hoping Someone in Northern Colorado would let me borrow their pump to do a test run. I don’t want to purchase a new one if that is not the problem. Thank you if some one can help me.

I used a kf25 solenoid valve so I can preheat the pump and the freeze dryer turns it on automatically.

I also used an Edwards RV12, which is another fantastic option for freeze dryers.

No absolutely no.

I do not like the oil less, others rave about it. I have quite a few videos comparing different pumps, but I think the premier that comes with is a great option without spending extra $$$$

I just looked it up. $1975 ti $2400 depending on where you buy it. Probably not worth it for me.
