Thanks so much for your great video. I just got an estimate for $1800 to retrofit my old alarm system with a one year mandatory subscription to the alarm service. So really all they were doing was putting the new board, connecting and testing and two new keypads and a wireless fire alarm. Seems somewhat pricey to me. Your video is helping me research my options. Good job!

How did you get the buzzer to work? How did you set it up in Smartthings? I can't get mine to work. Everything else works great.

What did you use for an Siren alarm? If existing, how did you get SmartThings to see the siren sensor?

Thank you very much for doing this video. It was very helpful.

Watch again from 26:30 to 29:30 I would connect it to Alarm2 Alarm 1 and 2 terminal are the negative poles weird but that is how it is Then in SmartThings you will have a rule If door sensor opens turn Alarm2 for 2 seconds Hope that helps :)

Can you use wireless Honeywell doors and motion sensors with Konnects?
@Gabster1 Жыл бұрын
Not directly but if you have the receiver interface you can connect from there

Thanks for the video. I have the old landline and need to get rid of it. How did you connect the ethernet cable?
@Gabster13 жыл бұрын
I ran mine in the crawl space up a wall but the board runs on WIFI as well if running a ethernet cable is problematic.

Very informative. How many zones did you end up with? How helpful were the Konnected people? I can’t find a phone number. Do you have any information on possible keypad substitution options?
@Gabster12 жыл бұрын
@@bobperez8414 had 16 zones ended up grouping a few in series to make it fit in 12 Did not need to contact Konnected I believe they have there contact on the web but may be email form. There is a option to keep your old pad but I chose not to the phone app is fine If you really want you could use a cheap small tablet to do so

Do you have to use SmartThings or can you just use the Konnected app?
@Gabster13 жыл бұрын
As far as I know The Konnected app is just a way to sync the status of the various sensors with SmartThings on its own it does not work But you do not need a hub just the free SmartThings app, so a good thing because the SmartThings app is very good. You can also use other platforms like home assistant, Habitat and a few others. Hope that helps

Does it work with your keypad ?
@Gabster13 жыл бұрын
Not a traditional keypad but could use a cheap fire tablet as a dedicated SmartThings for example but try using just your phone as you may find that is all you need. There is also a way to keep your old keypad depending on the model check out the website. I wanted to keep my old keypad but my alarm model is too old not compatible. I am glad I did not keep it, once you ditch the old keypad you do not look back.

@@Gabster1 This is interesting as they describe the interface as allowing the existing alarm to work as is.

I have a DSC Neo Powerseries keypad, how can I keep using that? Is there a way to adapt it?
@yinkastihl Жыл бұрын
Yes you can, you will need to the konnected interface module
@jorgeherdocia5120 Жыл бұрын
@@yinkastihl how’s that. Is there a video or some explanation to do that?
