All Sufi tariqas, Sunni or Shia, have Hazrat Ali directly following the Prophet in their silsilas, except for the Naqshbandi/Haqqani, who have Abu Bakr and Salman Farsi following the Prophet. This tells me that for 1400 years the Sufis have honored Ali as having something special for humanity.

He is a deobandi but talking about tasawwuf, tareeqat and Qadri, chishti, naqshbandi and soharwardi schools of tareeqat. This is very interesting because today Deobandi is one of those sects who make fun of sufis and tasawwuf. You can listen to Shaykh Saqib Iqbal Shami who is the actual follower of Sufis.

7:45 Akbar went astray mainly because of some "corrupt maulvis" in his palace. They were after wealth & used to confuse him by creating divisions,backbiting about others, etc. So to get rid of this he created Deen-e-Ilahi to which Mujaddid Alfi Saani (Sarhindi) rose against and then Jahangir his son was not like Akbar. And later on Aurangzeb as we know. Rest Allah knows best.
