I returned mine. I could never get it to work with my VPN. Tried contacting TP-Link. What a joke. If this is for your home, good luck trying to get help. You can't get a live person. Nor a dead or semi-dead one for that matter. Your only option is to sort through thousands of pages of "Community Help". I gave up after several hours and processed a return for it. I figure if the company isn't interested in the people that buy their stuff, then I'm not interested in sending them my money.

Hello with this wifi extender can you change the name of extender to something different to router name, i don’t want my brothers using my extender
@LuckyDawgProductions4 жыл бұрын
I would imagine you can do that, but I haven't tried it. Give it a try and see. That's how I figure things out.

This unit should NOT be installed as shown unless you have whole house surge/spike protection. A bad product design that blocks all the receptacles on a 2 or 4 outlet plate and adjacent ones on a surge protector strip.There are seldom enough available wall power receptacles. The ones that exist are buried behind something or in areas where physical damage is likely from traffic. Whatever cost reduction savings there might be from eliminating an external power supply are negated by customers needing to provide power bars to free up the other receptacles.
@LuckyDawgProductions5 жыл бұрын
A whole house surge/spike protection would be good to have in any house.
@Skippy03304 жыл бұрын
yeah. when you own a home, you own more than one receptacle. im sure one of the 18 i have in my basement, 10 of which are emtpty will be ok. it's not bad design, it works as intended for people who need this type of device. Why would you bother throwing it on a powerbar? oooh no, that one in a million chance it may fry a device not plugged into one. maybe you should stop stating your own personal opinon as fact, because you are WRONG. you do realize, not everyone shares the exact same experience as you right? not bad design, bad consumer who expects every device to operate for what HE needs, not what anyone else might. sit down kid.
