I was expecting to see them do a run-of-the-mill cover of this annoying-ass song, and make it tolerable. Instead, what I got was a badass Texas Blood Money-reminiscent cover with a reference to Metallica thrown in and a perfect mixture of raps and growls. The instrumentals sound almost "Red. White. Green."-era. This is beautiful.

@@jackmagnium6115 Because remixes aren't as easy to profit off of, you need to go through youtube and file it, whereas if you can prove a section of the song is part of your own you can keep it off of streaming services so you can't make money. also it's easier to go under the radar on youtube with remixes because you can shift pitch or tempo

Metallica basically hit them up asking for the standard publishing fee and they were like "oh fuck our bad" and agreed to do that. Then they had to renegotiate with lil John as a result of it being a new deal and he came back asking for 75% of royalties, on top of his publishing fee they already agreed on.
