Team of Nigerian Customs service raided Akala Shopping Complex, Bodija, Ibadan, around 1am of Thursday, April 1st
The raid on rice Sellers by men of the custom service was said to have happened after all traders had closed for the day and gone to sleep.
It was reported that the raid lasted for hours and went away with 5 trailers loads of varieties of rice and vegetable oil and yet to be ascertained substantial amount of money locked up in various shops
The traders took there protested to Oyo Governor’s office to express their feelings to the Governor and other concerned stakeholders in the state and beyond.
Adenike Adeniyi, a trader and victim, said his shop was among the countless shops that were burgled by Nigerian Customs.
Adeniyi stressed that his 268 bags of rice, money and other valuable items in the shop had been stolen by the Customs.
Adeniyi called on Governments at all levels to see to the matter, saying Customs had no right to step into the complex and had such effrontery to perpetrate such wicked acts.

Wey Kayode OYO Osun custom Command image maker confirming the raid via a telephone chat says the raid was carried out base on credible information stating that the command is empowered to carry out raids, he however debunked the report that command shot and injured marketers during the raid.
