Haha, I saw that too 😂 but 9F is not easy to use, spins easily around, flip upside, damage easily and love to blow up. 9F have even given Broughy more pain than success 😂

@@WillFuI yes, if you know how to handle it. Wouldn't help much if it blowing up down the mountain because maybe he knows he can't handle it. Just look back to all the times Broughy changed to 9F mid race and failed to even finnish the race. It's a 50/50 if 9F help you or not.

You actually had me for a few minutes there. I thought: "OMG! He's not gonna trash this 9F!" ...I just had to wait a little longer than usual. And it's not "the trees!". That's a pretty specific tree that I'm pretty sure already has a bunch of Broughy scars from previous visits.

11:54 What isn’t seen in the video is that 4th all the way through 14th is on that one road right after each other. The train begins with Broughy and ends somewhere where you drive up to the observatory. 11 people in close proximity right before Chilliad. This is likely how most of the finishing order was decided and how I made up a good amount of places😅

It's the unforced errors that make or break it for you. Sure some things can't be avoided in the heat of the moment, but.. "freaking bushes"... then hits another bush... But.. enjoyed another year of watching you're experiences. Here's to many more!

How about one race where ANYONE who has won a GFRED before has to wait 30 Sec before after the start of the race to start going? Like you said RBS and Vertilith are out in front and that is basically the race over... but if the winners HAVE to come through slower racers it will be more interesting... The winners will take better lines so the slower racers can learn in the moment (if they are paying attention), and it would give someone else (even rigged) a shot at victory.

I kinda agree, but it's more rewarding to beat them without handicap. They sets the benchmark how good you have to be to beat them or they have to be little unlucky. But yea, it's a little boring seeing same guys winning most of times but thats most racing/sports too. Biggest problem with Broughy is that he is not focused on the race 100%, if he did he will be up there racing agsinst them too.

@@OfferedThoughts didn't see you ment only one race at first, but 30sec will not be enough. RBS did a 1minute wait at start and came 7th, one minute and 6 sec behind first place in a 40 player race and used 3 different cars. Nobody at the highway when he got there, so nobody to fight over a car, if a very good car had spawned, he would just have won. But I don't care so much who is winning or not, I'm watching Broughy so it's more whats happens during the race and what place he ends up in. Comeback race and getting 5th is more entertaining then he gets first on the highway, gets a 9F and win

@@teigen13 yeah, so imagine Brough and every other winner fighting for those good cars, to then fight through the pack since it's one thing to be fast with only npcs in the way but now you have to fight the entire grid, while you have the fastest racers fighting through at the same time. I think it would be a fun 1 time race.

if you have a phone or tablet, you can get xbox game pass ultimate and stream the game directly to your device. need a decent internet connection and a controller but i used to do it before i got myself a console.

I don't want to backseat gameplay and broughy is a much better driver than I ever could be but it seems like he needs a lot of time to adapt to new paths. 17:09 It took him months/years to realize that he should drive more to the right on top but at 17:15 he always stays too far to the right and drives right into the tree. All he has to do is first drive right then look more to the left while jumping down the hill. He loses so much time in each and every GFred for months now because of this little mistake.

You are right about his paths; I could name a fair number of areas he could improve his performance, but I don't think he has time to spend improving his Gfred tactics and paths; he produces so much content and is working on a doctorate. Go watch the YT channels of Verdilith and RBS and you'll see why he has no real chance to win against them. I've largely stopped watching Gfred's on this channel; but, as he finished high up I was curious to see how he did; the chat from others on RBS's channel gave some clues.

I know you're asking Broughy but seeing as this is a public forum, I thought I'd throw in my penny's worth. I don't think there's any 'group around RBS helping him to win it'. He has a regular Gfred stream in which they all choose not to steal others' cars but it's an equal advantage to all. There are no bodyguards in this stream preventing anyone stealing his car - it's just that he's out in 1st position on his own merits so nobody is even in any position to steal his car. The only advantage RBS gets by having a regular band of people with whom to Gfred is that he gets in the hours of practice - anyone else could choose to do it too but it comes down to repetition and hard work

They didn't help me specifically to win it, we just tend to avoid wasting time stealing each other's cars if we're in a good position. It would be counter productive to fight over cars when we're first to the highway

@@rbs95 I'm 100% certain you don't need any help to win Gfreds. Your dedication and skills in this race are unmatched, and you fully deserve every win and record you have achieved. I just personally like the unpredictable nature of Gfred and the possibility of your car getting stolen is part of that. But for that to happen, Broughy would have to massively improve his time to the highway anyway ;) You and Verdilith are racing in a league of your own and keep on showing us the huge potential there is still to gain for everyone else to reach your level.

I’m worried because there aren’t any mountains in Florida. I’m sure they’ll put some in just for variety’s sake. But they’ll probably be way on the edge of the map and the map is bigger so routing will be trickier.

Could somebody do a TAS Speedrun of regular GFred? it would be really cool so see, 9f from the start, no crashing, perfect brake boosting, perfect train track riding etc.

One of the members of the Gfred community has made a TAS specifically for the train tracks section so you never fall off the rails, but it would be very difficult and time consuming to make one for the entire run. You'd also need to do it without traffic to make it consistent, which is against the spirit of Gfred. Up to now I think it's just too small a community for anyone with the skills to dedicate the time to it

He could either do it randomly again, or follow the theme: Island > Highway > Quarry > Airport > Tallest mountain > Observatory > opposite Island. Observatory and Quarry could both be changed to something else tho, especially if it fits better in a similar route to the OG Gfred. Like, the checkpoint after the Mountain should be between the mountain and Airport, so that the routes collide. But if the map is 3 times the size, it could mean the Gfreds could take up to 1h (20min x3).

It’s not like it’s being uploaded on Monday so that you can’t watch on Sunday as you used to. They’ll be staying on Saturday going forward though, Sunday will be dedicated to the streams.

When a race exists for as long as Gfred has, I think it's only natural that some people are going to get pretty good at it. It's a race after all, and some of us are very competitive!
