jute grows best in hot & humid climate. ranging temperature 24-38°C with well distributed rainfall as it requires 1000mm rainfall also 70%-90% humidity. It grows In Alluvial and loamy soil with pH 4.8-5.8. It is sown in March - May and harvested in July-September. Soil require replenishment annually with silt from floods as jute depletes soil fertility quickly.
