Clearing upsc without coaching is absolutely possible, My uncle(sudhakar) is currently an (ADM)(one of the only 9) Assistant divisional magistrate in (khajuwala)rohini, delhi . He cleared upsc while he was working as a gazetted officer had a daughter of 3 years old and was living in a joint family with us of 11 people in delhi, without internet without coaching. If you have serious dedication even 5-6hrs a day is enough for any examination that's what he told me. Self study is the most important element, he cleared several other exams(8or9).

BA Students, cleared in 1st attempt, Excellent strategy left topics like art & culture (due to lack of interest) & ancient and mediaeval (less no of questions) Focus - essay , ethics integrity Its a long race to run slowly... To overcome the stress played indoor games with family members Read the books of some good bureaucrats like P.C.Alexzander , B.D.Pandey. Your marks in 10th & 12th have will not decide your selection. To save ur time you can opt current affairs materials from top institute. Study hours 10pm to 5am, rest other work & refreshment
