When renting in the Philippines. I would follow the 3 times rent rule, if this rental is $900, make sure you make AT LEAST $2700 income monthly. It would get you out of trouble!
@Anonymint-vj7bt2 жыл бұрын
Let me add that for those who are on a fixed retirement income, your retirement is going to go ‘proof it's gone’ this decade, so you should be first focused on building your investments instead of upscale renting. Americans can find a place in Mexico for a third of this price while they build their net worth. Also $500 apartments can still be found in rural Texas for example. Note stock market and Bitcoin one more leg up then probably a severe crash before the Fed will open the money printing spigot again. I'm buying today the markets.

You'd need a few hectares to be sure of that because a new neighbor can move in anytime. But on the farm, then you will inundated with smoke from activities on the farms around you. Great place and a great deal, Paul. This is why I can never remove the Philippines from my list. I really don't need that much space, rooms or amenities though. Another thing is I'd be weary of driving around in the Philippines because anything that happens would be my fault.
@Anonymint-vj7bt2 жыл бұрын
I lived in the Philippines from age 26 in 1990 to 2020, other than a few of those intervening years in the USA. You get used to the driving, but it is nerve wracking initially. As for accidents you just need to pay off other party, and yes all accidents will be your fault so do not bother waiting for the police. Just make arrangements. But on the flip side the mandatory insurance is a negligible costs so you can set aside the money you would have been spending in the USA on insurance. The most important suggestion I can give you is choose higher elevation (but not too high as becomes too dreary above ~500m) so you don't need to spend you life in airconditioning. Also choose a decongested living space with neighbors who don't have incessantly yapping dogs, chickens and karaoke. Also scope out your Internet access speed and reliability which is often lacking in most locations. Is Elon Musk's Starlink available yet in the Philippines? As for myself, I am finished with the Philippines because the inconveniences, congestion and climate wore me out. But to each his/her own.

@@terryashley4674 Filipinos are lovely people in their natural environment (always smiling, joking, friendly), but they can be a pita in congested settings such as skipping ahead in queues (and lots of queues in the Philippines). And they seem to be immune to noise pollution thus they think nothing of inundating their neighbors with it. I'm still traumatized from the incessant noise, so much so I start to wince if I am exposed to any even in the USA. Latin America has much more crime, home break-ins, car jackings and muggings than the Philippines. The most danger in the Philippines comes from all the coughing people (they will turn and cough in your face and think nothing of it) and the crazy drivers especially on the highways. You may want to listen to Richard Heart's (the HEX scam creator) relate his harrowing experiences in Panama. It would be nice if the house has Solar power to prevent paying electricity which is extremely expensive and they overcharge you compared to utilities in North America which are less expensive or much cheaper as well as gas for cooking and heating water. For $900 but for $1000 us dollars with solar power, a water cistern system to use to wash the car, wash the dogs, flush the toilet and cleaning windows and floors. Saves a lot of money. All you need are food supplies, and going out to shop or eat plus your gas for the car and maintenance for it.

AWESOME VIDEO 📹 👏 👌 👍. Baby Mae could be a Model on the game show, The Price is Right. Very nice place 👌. I would take that place in a heart ❤️ beat 💓 ❤️. NUMBER 1 ❤️ . I'm interested.

Hello Paul, great video. How much does it to build a house like that in the Philippines not including the land ?

Good tour! My wife and I are thinking of coming there (from CA) in April/May. She is from Bacolod originally but we are interested in the Duma/Valencia area. Is 6 months the minimum rental period? What is the max? Could the rent be decreased for a longer contact?
