A former professional wrestler from the Upstate has died, but the coroner has not released an official cause of death.
The Spartanburg County coroner says Sean Christopher Haire, who went by Sean O'Haire in the ring, was found deceased in the home he shares with his father around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Family and friends tell News 13 that Haire, 43, was a bright, kind person who always had a smile.
According to Haire's obituary, he was a former wrestler for many years, who studied Buddhism and was a personal trainer at Exzel Fitness in Spartanburg. Industry website Wrestlezone.com says Haire was trained at the WCW's power plant, and made his pro wrestling debut on an episode of WCW Nitro in 2000.
After wrestling, Haire pursued the sport of kickboxing, and then transitioned into MMA, where he finished his career with a professional record of 4-2.
He is the latest in a recent string of early-life deaths for former pro wrestlers, including the ultimate warrior and Randy the Macho Man Savage.
According to Haire's obituary, his family will hold a celebration of life visitation inside this home from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.
Celebrity news magazine TMZ is reporting that O'Haire committed suicide.The Spartanburg coroner told TMZ no foul play is suspected.
Investigators are waiting on toxicology reports that might shed light on the case.
