I’ve been playing saxophone for almost four years now and every time I watch your videos I always feel like I need to get up and practice! You’re hella talented man, good for you! Any tips on getting better/do you use sheet music or come up with your own stuff?

Well, it seems like youre not getting your answer from Karsten, but I can give you a small tip for improving of your skill. I really recomend to practice scales in various speed. Both major and minor scales are important and the benefit from knowing them is priceless. You get to know your instrument better and when you are doing some improvisation, it also helps you a lot with knowing what to play. I mean chords, scales, sheet music, focus on all of that. If you are into jazz, find some tips and practicing sheets on internet. If you are into classical music, do the same. The internet will help you a lot. Or just talk to somebody, who understand your instrument and your needs. I hope i was understandable, iam not an english speaking person.

@@martinezz8268 whoops! I meant to answer this. Those are definitely great tips! Apart from that I would really recommend to just put on the songs you like and start playing along to them, it's a lot of fun and once you've done it many times learning a new song will be much easier! I also mostly play in the pentatonic or blues scale, they make improvising quite easy and fun 😋

Holy Wow, Karsten Belt! I mean, Holy Cow, Karsten Belt! This video popped up on my KZbins opening screen. I had a choice of watching this video or an instructional video on how to do a particular judo throw. I'm always up for watching a judo instructional video. I never know when I might pick up some tip or trick that I can teach my students. Anyway, guess which video I chose. I would have paid to see this performance in person. It's up there in that area that I call, "Stellar!" I am eager to see what you post next. Now, I have to go find that judo video.
