Thank you for sharing this, Shajeel. I recently noticed this issue, and many freelancers have discussed it in the Upwork community. The main reason, I learned, is that freelancers were sharing personal portfolio links in chats and proposals.

Sharing of links in the PROFILE is prohibited. But sharing of website link in PROPOSALS is not prohibited in Upwork's terms of service, even if your website has your contact details such as your email and phone. This is clearly mentioned by Upwork and also discussed in various posts in the Upwork Community. So we need to fully understand the rules and regulations of Upwork.

sometimes sharing templates links is causing restriction there now , so always try to share pdfs of profiles if you want to show design of websites to your client

Shajeel Bhai! Sometimes client ask for a GitHub profile link in the question while submitting the proposal. What should we do in that case?

I am very doubtful on this one because we can have direct contact info on GitHub profiles. However at the same time Upwork allows to attach the GitHub profile with the profile.

Yes you can. In fact you can share your personal or company website link in proposals aa well even if it has your email, phone etc mentioned. But it is allowed on the proposals, not on the profile..
