UPY 910 East in Chicago Heights, IL 1/12/21

This train is the Ford Run. It operates between UP’s Yard Center in Dolton, IL to the Ford Yard behind Ford’s Chicago Heights stamping plant. It is on its ways back to Yard Center in this video. This trackage over which the train is operating is the Chicago Heights Terminal Transfer (CHTT), a subsidiary operation based entirely in its namesake city. This location is 17th Street and East End Avenue and the line crosses the intersection. Nicely done video that brings back memories. I was an engineer on the MoPac and into the early years of the UP merger and worked this line and this train many times.

I had no idea that these had K5LAs. I thought the only UP engines with them were the T4 ACes.

UP 6647 has a raised letter K5LA & UP 6606 has a K125 that sounds like a fouled K5LA.
