Well, you can also do it with your significant other. Make sure to get the fundamentals fast... you’ll need them when the cops arrive

Also, Judo as Self-Defense; I'm not real comfortable doing Ura Nage without mats and on the street. In addition to you hitting the ground its harder to control how the other guy lands (if that matters). Utsuri Goshi can deliver a fight ending hard throw without possibly breaking his neck and you can remain standing.

using Judo for self defense is crazy. You don't want to touch or clinch aggressor ever. Use krav maga tecniques that ends in 0,5 seconds and run.

@@yugiohfanatic1964 I've been doing martial arts for 40 years. I've worked as a bouncer for 10 years in some rough bars. I've used Judo for self-defense, I've used Hapkido all with great effect. As far as Krav Maga, I've trained in for years, I believe you over state its effectiveness.

It would be better because it leaves you in A standing position. It's better for the other guy to get dropped on the ground instead of both of you because if it is something like concrete your also at risk of injury.
