Cool country... love the tour. I have had my Ural for about 6 days now. hard to get to know the girl and with bad weather it's been slow. I have been riding motorcycle for 56 years and to go to a three wheeled bike is a bit of a change. Throttle on, go to the right, let of off the gas, go to the left ... but you guys are different because your side car is on the other side. Had to adjust the brakes so I could stop straight. The thing is a TANK. But fun. I have not tried 2 wheel drive yet. Slow and steady Scott from Ocean Shores WA. State U.S.

G'day Scott, welcome to the world of three wheels. I had been riding for many years before moving over to the dark side. I still have a two wheeler which I enjoy the odd ride on, but barely ride it. I can't bring myself to sell it yet!!! On the Ural I ride a LOT slower and see a lot more. I ride alone and off road most of the time. No longer have those puckering moments when I come across deep chopped up sand, just steady on the throttle and blast through. I took it easy for the first few months, flew the chair a lot and spent time stuffing up corner entries and recovering. If anything's going to get you, it's the corners. Waiting on the arrival of my 2WD and planning future adventures. Stay safe.

Yes, fingers crossed. Was a good group, as it is every year. If we get to a larger group I will need a few people to have the route on a GPS so we can spread out a bit. I'll start planning next year in the coming weeks.

In motorcycle videos, it is better to listen to the sound of the motorcycles. In music videos I would not put the sound of the boxer Ural.😆
@gregjansen90803 жыл бұрын
Hi Cesetano, I totally agree BUT the sound of the Ural is very mild. What does make a LOT of noise is the bike riding over the rough road, the suspension bangs, the centre stand bounces and clangs on the frame and worst noise of all is my wife screaming at me to slow down! I am just learning about how to put videos together, I wish there was a short course. I am going to my the Media Mod and try to put some voice to the video. For instance on this trip we went past a property owned by Casey Stoner the ex Ducati MotoGP rider, that sort of thing people are interested in. The main feature of the video is to show people the Australian country side looks and the areas you can experience on your Ural. I have taken note of your comment and hopefully will improve the "sound" part of my videos soon.

@@gregjansen9080 Thank you very much for your attention Greg and for the video. It is very nice to see so many Urals together and those landscapes. My Ural is on its way to Europe from Russia, we will soon have that marvel of a machine at home. Kind regards from the Canary Islands-Spain. Health ! 🍻

When you have the sidecar on the left side I that it that the Ural can't drive the sidecar tire

Hi Neil, I've just worked out a way to put a link in the description of the video. Unfortunately the GPX file is on my computer in Dunoon and I'm in Sydney. I'll do it on Tuesday and let you know as soon as it's done.

Hi Neil, I've added a link to the description so you can download the GPX files. The GPX files are tracks not routes. My GPS works better with routes!!

Can you have a patrol model sidecar on the right side?
@gregjansen90803 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, yes…just released last year. I have one on order, arriving April.

Man that is cool, I would love to see pictures of it and the rear running setup, when I get my settlement I am going to buy a new 2 wheel drive patrol model, when I met a guy Ari in Denver he had a Ural that he was riding around the world, his site is the oasis of my soul that is on the side of his hack that his dog rides in, I still have my 1970 military 650 Ural, lots of modifications have been made to it to keep it on the road over the years, I bought it new while in Russia while visiting it one winter with the military

@@michaelschmidt4618 I'll post a video when I get the new bike. We had been asking Ural for years for a Lefthand Chair 2WD and they said "not possible". Then suddenly it was here. There were quite a few on the ride this year. I have a winch because I've been caught out a number of times, once badly. If I had the 2WD I'm sure I would have had a fighting chance. I have it in my bucket list to do a good trip on the Ural. Start here, over to Africa, up to Europe, across to South America, up the top, over to Russia and finish somewhere. Time is ticking!!!!!!
