Ural (Dnepr) MT16 First review. My new motorcycle with sidecar.

I just got the New old Dnepr MT16 with the shaft drive to sidecar wheel. It is awesome bike and now I will be able to ride it even in winter time. It is 29 years old but still it is one of the best sidecar motorcycles for offroad. I will restore it in the classic style and it will be looking like WW2 sidecar military motorcycle.

What Sylvia said! I have Ural's version from the 90's. Both are fragile, but a lot of fun on the road. Off road, great for getting stuck! Great project, sidecar tub will be a challenge. One more thing, I rode an MB650 from Spb to MotoBay Rally to Rybachi and back, no break downs. They are as reliable as you make them!

Road Home Well I just love your whole set up. I think for what you spent and what you have, you should be very proud. Getting something cheap and out of shape and fabricating it into a splendid working machine is an accomplishment worthy of pride. When you buy a brand new gear up it is nice but it doesn’t really connect you to the machine like you have been able to do with yours. Bravo to you.

Fuel filters are a simple and cheap way of keeping crap out of your carburetors no matter what kind of carburetors you have

Hey Denys, I am looking at a1973 Dnepr that's for sale here in Canada with the side car and very similar to the one you have here. I regularly watch your Ukraine war updates and then stumbled across this video when searching for info on Dnepr's. Great review!! I know you have had to move out of Ukraine, but curious if you still have your Dnepr? Hope you do, and hope you and the family are keeping well.

Unreliable engine? No! Often was badly slapped together - this needs to be taken care of for sure. Adjusted and/or replaced with up to spec parts. Then it needs some care. And knowledge. One needs to realize what it was designed for. It is neither a racer nor a rock hopper. But it is FUN and easy bike.

If it's got a differential : take care, when you fly the sidecarwheel, you loose your power and the wheel get stopped hard and destroy the differential after many of those nice actions. Fonz.

I have a 1998 and a half Ural tourist most of the Soviet Parts on my bike are working well all my instrument lights work I had to replace a two piece driveshaft a brake cable and I had a cylinder brake on the way to Easter services I put a new cylinder on it new pushrod tube seals no Harley dealer would do it so I took it around the corner to my buddies house and he helped me with tools and my friendly your real dealer help me with advice gave me great satisfaction to fix it myself the timing gears went out and I had my dealer in halawa paw Florida do the work I change oil and filters and I put tires on it and that's basically all I do and I have over 40,000 miles on it it has been more reliable than some of my buddies brand new Harleys that spend more time in the shop and they do on the road I point that out to them every time they call my bike, akame piece of shit these bikes are piece of History something a new bikes can't even pretend to have
