Funny thing is that as an Estonian, when these languages are spoken, they don't sound as similar as when they are sung. Maybe there are a bit more s, š and other similar letters compared to Estonia. Is it also the case for other uralic language speakers?

A közös történelmi emlékeink tesznek minket egy nemzetté, nem az, hogy honnan származik a nyelvünk. Minden finnugor témájú videó alatt megjelennek a "mi szkíták vagyunk" vagy " a magyar nem uráli nyelv" típusú hozzászólások. Ad, jön, megy, él, ének, jég, tél, víz, tud, tesz, mond, kutya, stb tehát a legalapabb szavaink finnugor eredetűek. És unalomig megy ez a hülye szkítázás. Lehet, hogy szkíták vagyunk, de a nyelvünk alapszavai finnugorok. Ezen felesleges vitázni.

Pontosan, ezek nem tudják felfogni hogy a nyelv és a nemzetiség/ genetika nem egy és ugyanaz. A legvalószínűbb válasz az eredetünkre az hogy egy csomó etnikai csoport keveréke vagyunk, akik talán más nyelveket is beszéltek, de együtt jöttek a Kárpát-medencébe. Még a lengendáinkból is ez jön le (hét törzs, hét vezérrel). De az biztos, hogy a nyelvünk alapja finnugor, ahogy mondtad, török befolyással amit az úton szedhettünk össze. És az is biztos hogy a szkítákhoz nincs sok közünk, azon kívül hogy egy helyen és egy időben voltunk velük, tehát van néhány szó amit tőlük vettünk át.

Thank you. So much truth in the 1st sentence of your comment. And I believe (and know) that truth and truthfulness is very important for Uralic people as their feature.. Also you missed a word "blood" which I think is a best Uralic cognate that stayed unchanged through all Uralic languages and also full of sense: like, what is your blood? This is little comment from Bashkiria..

Actually, it's 50-50, Russian is the most Uralic-influenced Slavic language and the Uralic languages spoken in Russia are also influenced by Russian

@@bg2283 Actually, Slavic languages have specific sound patterns, regardless if they are Eastern Slavic (like Russian), Western Slavic or Southern Slavic. I agree with the original poster - some of those languages, although not Slavic, have been influenced by Russian. Had it been the other way around, the languages belonging to the same linguistic group would sound similar, yet they differ exactly in the Slavic-sounding words.

Granted, hungarians are only uralic by language and are actualy west slavic and germanic people by blood. But yes uralic is a different thing from the inuit.
