Oh believe me I do this, I have younger cousins...and I understand why. They are children after all, you need to show them the good things in life and not always seem depressed or else they'll grow up fast without feeling innocent happiness, pretend you like them even if you don't...sometimes...and don't easily raise your hand if they do something wrong even if you're on the verge of blowing up, reel that anger in and control yourself as much as possible, then try to talk them out and make them understand or else they'll grow up without knowing why they're wrong and why were they punished, anger will control their hearts and they'll learn that it's okay to hurt others... they're still children so let them be, becoming an adult means learning a lot of things and they'll have to decide for themselves eventually...as the older one, you need to be at least understanding toward them because you've been there yourself...even if you have to act happy in front of them sometimes...you can just be frank to them when they become adults, able to understand things properly, sure they'll be surprised, but once they learn that not everything is rainbows and butterflies...well, we'll have to see how they'll cope with it...if it goes too far, stop it, and give a positive speech or something to lift up their spirits...cause you being older knows that life isn't also just darkness and cruelty...those are two sides of the same coin, one cannot exist without the other...

Headcanon Afterstory: The kids all get together and decide to rekindle his happiness, hope and will to live. Slowly, but surely, it works. One pure-hearted child, Izumi, helps him the most. (Izumi: gender-neutral name, 'fountain'/ 'deep understanding') He is a homeless orphan, and is so unbelievably tough that he has gone through a living hell and come back- without a tear. He is a massive empath, and knows Uramichi's pain. This is Izumi's _only_ weakness, and he is very, very vulnerable when it's hit.
