Absolutely gorgeous, thank you for demonstrating this! I just bought this palette and have not yet used it. I love Urban Decay and the shadows in this pallet are a wonderful combination of colors I would not have put together myself.
@angelah42243 жыл бұрын
Through trial and error, I’ve discovered that using a sticky primer with the deeper colors in this palette makes them almost impossible to blend. Also, the brush that came in the palette works better with the lighter shades, but I lose control of the pigments when I use it with the deeper ones. It’s a beautiful palette, but it takes some practice to nail the best combination of products in order to make it work. All that aside, you recovered this look perfectly!
@Tiffs-bookshelf3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Same here, it’s trial and error. It’s a really pretty palette and I love the blues.
@EimearMcElheron3 жыл бұрын
I filmed another look using this palette but this time I went with the nude tones. Instead of using the Urban Decay Primer Potion I picked up a Mac Paint Pot as one of my lovely subscribers suggested. I did find I got on better that time with the palette but i'll need to use the blues again with the paint pot to figure if it was the ud primer that made the difference. You would think one of their own primers would be most suitable with the palette but maybe not 😅Completely agree, it's a gorgeous palette and one that I was so looking forward to digging in to. It's just a shame you've to work so hard to figure out a way of getting it to look good haha! Thanks a million xx

@@EimearMcElheron Happy to help! I get what you’re saying that UD primer SHOULD work with their eyeshadows, but this formula seems to be a bit different that their usual fare, and more like Naked Honey...which I LOVE!

Thanks so much for your tutorial/first impression. I was almost convinced to get this, but glad I hesitated. I’ll create this look using similar colors in my other palettes (just don’t have them all in one palette) with better formulas. If you struggled in getting these to blend, I could only imagine my frustration in attempting to do the same, topped-off with my anger over having paid so much for it. Thanks again, love your tutorials!
@EimearMcElheron3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s definitely a first impression but not a good one 😅 I’ll use it again and try the shadows from the other end of the palette and see how they perform. It’s a pity because I was most excited about those blue hues and they were just so hard to work with. I wouldn’t use those again, if I wanted to create a blue look I’d reach for another palette instead! Glad the little insight helped and thanks very much for watching 🥰 x

I think maybe using a concealer instead of a primer would make it a little more blendable. (Got this tip from Smitha Deepak's channel-she usually uses concealer as primer on the eyes.) You two are my favorite makeup artists!
@ldinatale51502 жыл бұрын
I’ve learned that the UD primer makes it difficult to blend even with their own shadows. I used MAC’s paint pot in ochre & had no problems blending. Thank you, for the video.

I did a similar loom yesterday and didn’t have any issues. But I set my shadow before hand and used the Mac paint pot. I’m loving this palette

I don't know if it's my skin or what, but I did not have a hard time with the shadows at all. It blended really nicely with no effort. Thank you for the amazing video! Best one yet and got compliments on my eyes at Comic Con. Keep up the good work! ❤️

I agree re the UD palettes. I find some have really hard dry shadow which is hard to blend and I feel a bit like they have done the 'Naked' range to death now. A shame as I like a lot of their other products
@EimearMcElheron3 жыл бұрын
Exactly! They can be so hit and miss. I adore the setting sprays and 24/7 glide on eye pencils in particular. There are actually lots of products in their range that I enjoy from blushes, to foundation etc. However the eyeshadow palettes are just a little lack lustre lately which is a shame as eye makeup is my favourite to create! x

I would try a different eye primer like the one from Mac paint pot. And definitely use a different brush not the one that comes with those palettes. I do not have success with that brush.. others have had trouble with those brushes... And use your finger for the shiny color they go on so much better than using a brush.

I have this palette and only use the blues on the lower lash line. The browns blend better. I was off Urban Decay after Naked 3 which was my second palette but then I ordered Honey when it launched and then when this one launched I went a little crazy and also ordered Cherry, Heat and Stoned Vibes.I am done unless they do a green palette and will be sticking to Natasha Denona and Viseart I think
@EimearMcElheron3 жыл бұрын
I’m going to give the other end of the palette a go and see how those shadows perform but so far I’m a bit disappointed. I adore the Naked Heat palette it’s one of the very few palettes I’ve ever hit pan on multiple shades. It’s one I’m going to have to repurchase soon 😅 I gave my Naked 3 palette to one of my friends and UltraViolet was a little lack lustre for me. The launches are definitely hit or miss! X
@amysweettea4463 жыл бұрын
@@EimearMcElheron I love purple and am totally disappointed with Ultraviolet. The only one I truly loved was the original Naked I hit pan on 7 and they had to go and replace it with an ABH Sultry dupe with half the quality :(

If you intended to blend so seamlessly then why use the primer because that was enough to make the layer stick appropriate however once you started blending it wasn’t about to be smeared anywhere. I myself use primer only when using a heavy fallout pallet
@EimearMcElheron3 жыл бұрын
Different strokes for different folks! This is what I religiously do and have absolutely zero problem blending seamlessly. It's what always works for me, no matter what look I'm creating. You would also expect that the own brands primer would work the best in conjunction with their own palette but possibly not 😅 Who knows.

I do show them? I photograph every makeup item before I use them. I then place a zoomed in image of the eyeshadow that I’m using and then I name the colour. I do think it’s quite clear but if you’ve any suggestions, do let me know? 😊 x
