Intermunicipal General Regulatory Plans
The Intermunicipal General Regulatory Plan (P.R.G.I.) is, in the Italian legal system, a regulatory instrument that regulates building activity in an area on which several territories belonging to different municipalities exist.
It essentially consists of a General Regulatory Plan drawn up by several municipalities, which participate jointly. It can also be requested by supramunicipal bodies (Province or Region) or by individual Municipalities.
It starts with the drafting of the instrument by the region or municipalities. The region identifies a lead municipality called to manage the procedure while maintaining relations with the region itself. The Lead Municipality draws up the instrument and, through a council resolution, adopts it and transmits it to the other interested municipalities.
The procedure is then the same as that of a normal General Regulatory Plan: it is published by posting on the public notice board for 30 days, for these 30 days and for the following 30 days anyone can make observations that are a contribution that individuals or associations can give to improve the adopted plan. The counter-arguments phase is then started, ending with a subsequent rejection and acceptance.
