INDUCE BUDS ON DRAGON FRUIT PLANT | SIMPLE TIPS
I always tip my dragon fruit when they get to a good length. The idea is to allow the branch to thicken up instead of putting the energy into length of growth, as the energy stored in the thickened branch is eventually used to support flowers and ultimately fruit.
Early summer is a good time to start tipping your spring growth and let it fatten up. The main idea is to tip at least a month before flowering is due to start. Too early and you will get a lot of new plant growth, so don't tip your plants in mid Spring.
REGULAR FERTILIZATION: It is very important to fertilize your
mature plants once in 30 to 45 days. Between march and September continue to fertilize your plants with manure /
compost and ferrous sulphate or magnesium sulphate (also known as Epsom salt)
TIPPING TIME: IN INDIA-AUGUST TO OCT
REST OF THE WORLD -SUMMER TO FALL

Very nice video, thank you. I am growing yellow Dragon fruit in Kentucky, and it has been a rewarding challenge. Watching them grow from seeds to 1 meter + plants in about a year. I can't wait for them to be old enough to fruit. It will be interesting if I can keep them alive that long.

Thank you so much for your videos. Your knowledge, communication skills and patient photography are all so helpful for a new gardener like me. 🙏🏼 I am sharing a humble suggestion as you seem to be a devoted dog lover. It is a good idea to loosen the dog neck collar as it is uncomfortable for them and also restricts their neck to grow fully. 🙏🏼 I am sharing respectfully only as one dog doting person to another. This is from some previous videos I have watched. 🙏🏼

Great video, thank you. I have a question, I am in South Florida and about 2 years ago, I planted approx. 14 Dragon Fruit plants (mixed varieties) in groups of 4, grew very well on their 4-foot trellis, however the plants produced many, many beautiful, healthy-looking flowers but did not set fruit, I only got 3 fruits in the 2-year period. I have tried pollinating them in different ways, using my hand, placing the pollen in a container and using a soft brush to pollinate them, swapping the pollen from plant to plant with a brush or leaving them alone without success. Like I said, the plants and flowers look very healthy and pretty; an observation, I don't know if it's normal, in a group of plants, I find many bugs at the inner base of the flowers, they look like small brown weevils, they can only fly a little, (Nitops craigheadi ???) I don't know if they are harmful or beneficial, I don't know if that has something to do with no bearing fruit, apart from that, I don't see any other bug outside of the plants that affects them, any suggestions? Thanks in advance I found a video that it shows something similar to what I see inside the flowers: packaged-media.redd.it/gziy1fie01o91/pb/m2-res_720p.mp4?m=DASHPlaylist.mpd&v=1&e=1692306000&s=8223b959ac41589632305a7bf5d68d2a57a6703e#t=0

I have some growing in a big pot on the terrace. When the little buds start growing, the black ants cover the buds, then the buds die off. Can’t use bug spray, it kills the part of the plant the spray gets on. trying borax and a small amount of baking soda, the ants don’t like it much. I would like to know how to get rid of all these black ants before they infest the buds.
