As people pass or stop in front of any one of the different creatures between dusk and midnight, the Urbanimals wake up. This magically interactive project was created using projectors and sensors and stretched across the whole city of Bristol UK in hidden locations.
A playful pack of wild creatures created by Polish architects LAX (Laboratory of Architectural Experiments) that people could play with after dark for two months .
Citizens of Bristol had the opportunity to leap with a graceful dolphin, chase a shy rabbit, find the secretive beetle or skip with a cheeky kangaroo. Lurking behind walls, hiding in dark corners, the Urbanimals were waiting in unexpected places across Bristol and were eager to play with passers by.
Urbanimals helped people rediscover the magic in the city; giving a fresh perspective on spaces we might ignore, we might forget, we might despise.
