Thanks for the stream. I was in Galway in June 2019 and can't wait to go back. Their is a clothier name Geraghty's in Galway. Met the men and talked for an hour but we aren't related. I've seen my last name in Galway and Dublin. My family is from Castlebar just northwest of Galway. We are black Irish.

The Spanish Armada being the origin of the Black Irish is a myth, those Irish who have a swarthy look mostly seen along the west coast is said to be the descendants of the original post Ice age settlers, Crown forces killed the majority of Spanish sailors who washed up on the Irish coast.
