I really like this Kitsune. She is so sweet and understanding of the listener. And she doesnt even have a problem with the listener being a human. I really hope it works out and that we can see more of her but I understand where she is coming from. I kinda guessed Grandpa was a monster hunter when it was mentioned that he wasnt a werewolf and that he just came home with the jacket one day. It was confirmed for me when the knife collection was mentioned to me lol.

Idea - the jacket belonged to his mate who was a werewolf. The knife belonged to a hunter who went after and tortured the werewolf friend and finding out, the granddad killed the hunter with his own knife. The granddad took the jacket as it was his friends favourite and since then hunted monster hunters, hence the k ife collection???

As far as I know, there are two types of Kitsune in Japanese mythology. One is pretty much a succubus, the other is more like what you're describing Correction, the succubus one is a Hui-Jing, which is chinese, but it is also a nine-tailed fox spirit

In my personal experience, foxes tend not to bark, most that I've seen scream like they're being murdered. You wouldn't believe the amount of times foxes have been mistaken for women or children in danger and the police were called on them
