Used to have the Klim Air Vest, but the app stopped recognizing me after an update, so I reached out to Klim who said they would respond, but they didn't. Also, they now make you subscribe, so, along with the fact that you had a stupid process that you had to struggle to remove the charging box from the vest, plug in the most annoying USB connector (Not USB-C), figure out the 4 annoying multicolor flashing lights, then struggle putting the charger back in the jacket. Enough! In the bin it went & I bought this. SO MUCH EASIER! For those unsure if an Air-Vest is worth it, I can say this: If I had had one available 12 years ago, my lower spine and neck probably wouldn't be fused. In short, these vests are not light, but essential. I see more of them at the racetrack that I did 5 years ago and Dainese gear is always top-notch. I won't ride a motorcycle without one, on the road or at the track.

Hi. Great review. Thank you so much. Just some help with sizing if somebody is not sure. I am tiny guy : height 182 cm, chest 96 cm, waist 86 cm = M size fits perfectly. 🙂

As a owner for 4 years and a happy customer pros and cons. Pros 1.comfy breathable 2.waterproof 3. Easy to use No complaints, never been deployed Cons 1 small coverage virtually no coverage of neck 2 no built in back protector ( so battery goes flat no back protector) I always put in a d30 backy 3. Main problem you can only check updates and battery level by "PLUGGING!" into a lap top, not a phone or tablet. What a pain who uses laptops now so slow puts you off checking ERRRRR. 4. Gubbins around the waist so makes you fat so does not fit under existing close/ jackets as well as other airbag vests I would recommend one, but after having one I've swapped to a inbox subscription model so price is comparable ( vest cheaper to buy so in 3 / 4 years works out same) I'm keeping dianaise as back up now.

I will never buy a airbag vest that even offers a subscription based airbag activation. Any company offering that is blatantly saying that you would gladly let you die for refusing to give them $20.
@ayowser0110 ай бұрын
The led on the vest flashes to indicate power range; just charge it when it reports low power, which still provides 4+ hrs of use.

Very happy to see this technology becoming more common place! What are the pros and cons of wearing it over or under a motorcycle jacket?
@hitharder2 жыл бұрын
I spoke to Dainese about this and if your jacket doesn’t give it enough room to inflate underneath then it won’t perform properly. So they suggest you have it fitted with your riding jacket
@Grip3340 Жыл бұрын
@@hitharder are you sure I’ve heard otherwise but i guess you wont be needing to wear a tight leather jacket anymore since this is supposjngly better , a regular jacket that you can add elbow and shoulder guards should work .

Some very good features on these ones but for me, the Helite E-Turtle has a major difference as you can wear it over anything easily and importantly, it has much more capacity for cooling air to circulate around the whole of the body on the move and off the bike where the vest version here wraps around your torso tightly adding to body heat which is defo not for me as it is inflexible. Also, you can get the Helite and their fork sensor for under the costs of these. Mine is black but you can get yellow too which is also beneficial to those who want that hi viz. Thanks for the video.

Where did you buy your E-Turtle, please? I bought the tethered version a few months ago and can't find the E version anywhere. Thank you

@@Peter-mcmcmc Hi. Sportsbikeshop with a slight discount but Helite had them in stock at time, January.

@@ConciergeMed Thanks so much! I live in the US and haven't ordered from Sportsbikeshop but just checked them out and the E-Turtle has two excellent reviews (I don't think I've ever seen a bad Helite review, actually). Do you like yours better than the tether? I imagine so and, while I don't dislike my version, I would like the feeling of being unencumbered. Also, did you opt for the fork sensor? If so, is it gimmicky or legit? Thank you again.
@ConciergeMed2 жыл бұрын
@@Peter-mcmcmc Yes, I chose to trust the technology rather than the tether and wanted no additional things to do and just sit go & ride. The fact it’s based on giro movement not a tether and yes, I have the fork sensor too, gives me more confidence that anything that may knock me from any angle will trigger the protection. I also contacted Helite direct for questions on everything including fork sensor and jacket size selection and they answered all my questions confidently. Fork sensor will Pick up a car immediately it is nudging your bike. Wearing it is just part of my automatic routine and those big under arm spaces you don’t know you’re wearing it. Battery charger once a month or longer, I use my bike on ave 10 hours per weekend. No need to turn it on or off as it sleeps after a few minutes when not in use. 🇺🇸 🏴

@@ConciergeMed Thank you for your thoughtful reply; I'm sold and plan to buy this month. I agree with you about it not being heavy or cumbersome, especially in light of the big arm spaces. I don't ride without mine, either, and it will be nice to not have to "put on my seatbelt." :) That's also encouraging to hear about the fork sensor, as well as the charge time not being too onerous. Thank you again!

I really don't see a reason these aren't solar powered. All in all great jacket, definitely on board with the pay once and own it forever model.
@GeekProdigyGuy2 жыл бұрын
Solar panels would have to go on the outside and very likely be destroyed in an accident.

The Klim vest is 400$ then 120$ a year or 300$ for life subscription. And you can change the cartridge only needing inspection at a suggested (not required ) three crashes . So it’s really not that different in cost. The he light and this jacket are the same cost as a Klim with the one time lifetime subscription.
