Exploring Abandoned Levi Scofield Mansion - Historic

In this video I explored the abandoned Levi Tucker Scofield mansion in Cleveland, Ohio. This Victorian style mansion completely is off limits and there is no way to get in the building due to the city of Cleveland closing the mansion off with plexiglass.
This mansion is falling apart but there are plans to restore the mansion to it's former self. This beautiful mansion is 123 years old.

Sally from England 🙋🏻‍♀️🇬🇧 The door closing at 14.02 is an optical illusion caused by the door’s reflection in the mirror as you walked towards it, it never closed on its own. What mirror? All i saw was a a big ass hole in the wall and the door moving on its own, i saw no mirror... You can also see the carpet continue between the two studs, making it one continuous look through a hole in to another room. You're buggin' if you think that was a mirror.

What a mansion, love the turrets I think they bring a grandeur to a building. I’m glad to read it will be restored as it would be sad to see it just rot away. At 14:00 as you panned around from looking out the window a door in the other room closed . Really appreciate the work you put in to bring us a great explore, thank you.

I was glad to read it was being restored, I remember living in old homes like this, the storage space I had on either side of my room, and turning it into a playroom or secret hideout..lol,...now it's actually hard to come across homes like this ....(sigh) maybe come back when it's restored, show before and after pics :-)

I'm surprised the City of Cleveland didn't offer to buy this when it closed in 1990, knowing it was the home of the famous Architect, Scofield. It's crazy to see how just 32yrs can completely destroy a home if it's not kept up on. It also makes me feel old as dirt! This place closed down my Senior year in high school!

What a beautiful home in it’s day. The architect is quite a talent. What a legacy he has left. Especially in the Ohio reformatory where to this day is being investigated by the paranormal. Also used in many Hollywood films.

When you say they have closed the building off with plexiglass, my first image was this massive overturned clear mixing bowl covering the property. Or something like "The Dome". Second image in my mind's eye was you tunneling underground like a mole to get under the aforementioned dome because of it being completely off limits. Then I came to the conclusion, you probably went to get this wonderful footage before the massive dome was lowered into place. Either way, thank you for this excellent and professional production of something we would otherwise probably never get to see.

Just found out the Wick mansion in Youngstown sold for 78,000.00. There is a man and his aunt who are going to restore the mansion. Todd ave is full of beautiful old mansions.

Why not get artist glass lehr kiln for basement, make glass garden menagerie for sale from recycled city glass to finance rebuilding. Do black light uranium glass points exterior. Find old iron cast molds in serviceways around old foundry sites. Fill with blown glass instead. Blow out the interior paint. Take doors back to wood. Do something. Weather tight with blown waste glass. Exterior long wall, back lit, weddings on summer lawn. Roy Orbison nights. Summer retro music nights. Seasonal banners for next events. Kiln can be semipermanent mortar, do art glass, security glass block, etc. Sells. Chain link inventory outside and then sell by drive by. Post cell number.
