Exploring Abandoned Historical Observatory

In this video I revisited the Warner and Swasey Observatory located in East Cleveland, Ohio.
The Observatory was built between 1918, and 1920, by Worchester Warner & Ambrose Swasey.
They were the owners of the Warner and Swasey company, Which made precision instruments and telescopes in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The observatory was donated to the Case School of Applied Science in 1919 by Warner & Swasey.
The observatory originally housed a 9.5" refractor telescope.
In 1939 the observatory acquired a 24" Burrell Schmidt telescope.
And in 1941, They built a second dome to house the new telescope, and at the same time they decided to build a lecture hall and an astronomical library for the facility. In the 1950s light pollution from the development of East Cleveland and Cleveland Heights began to make it impossible to do astronomical research in the area as a result a new site was constructed in Geauga county, but the observatory in East Cleveland continued to conduct astronomical research into the 1970s. Until it was abandoned in 1982. In 1983, the observatory was sold and still left completely abandoned and remained neglected until 2005, when it was sold to a couple who started renovations and planned on converting the building into a residence. But their plans came to a stop when the owner was convicted of mortgage fraud and sent to prison in 2007. As of 2021, the building still sits abandoned completely exposed to the elements. The future is unknown for this very historic building.
Unsettling ominous vibes from this place.

I grew up in 1960s & 1970s West Side Cleveland and do remember hearing the Warner & Swasey, just not in what context! Since I left there in the mid 70s, I've lived in the rural Appalachians and have loved it here. But occasionally, there are times when I wish I'd made a different choice! When I left, I had a great paying apprenticeship and a girl I cared deeply about, but just wanted a slower paced and more relaxed life! Had I stayed, I would've almost certainly hooked up with some Urban Explorers and Paranormal Investigators! As teenagers, a few select friends and I prowled the tunnels and storm drains under the city and what is now Tower City! We also explored abandoned buildings and upon repeat visits, scavenged scrap metals for spending cash! My father did not believe in an "allowance", so I had to earn my spending money my own way! Recycling newspapers & scrap metal was a major source of my teenage and preteen income! I was actually thinking about returning to Cleveland to be near my sister, but she suddenly died, almost exactly a year ago!
