I prefer the past tense construction to be viewed as ‘coffee was made by me’ where the particle ‘ne’ cuts off the connection between the subject Mai and the verb ‘banana’. So we now have a passive construction where the subject becomes ‘coffee’ and that’s why the verb has to agree with coffee because it’s now the subject of a passive construction. ‘ Mai ne coffee banai’ ‘ coffee was made by me’.

Thank you so muck ♥ You say that we always have to use "ne" in the past, but if I translate this sentence in google "the child ran in the park" it gives me a translation without "ne" . It gives me "bacha park main bhagaa" ... I'm really confused loool Thanks a lot !!!!

Hey Andreab, we don't use "Ne" for intransitive verbs, like as go, come, sleep, wake up, run, climb etc, there is a little different rule for intransitive verbs, we maybe learn in another video, I think the next lesson will be about intransitive verbs
