My doctor is Pakastani. I am learning Urdu to speak to him in his native language. When I spoke my first words in Urdu to him, he went nuts! He was so happy! So I'm going to learn more so I can have a conversation with him in Urdu. It's a lovely language, and a really nice way to bond with him. He gets very giggly.

In 1948, Urdu declared sole national language in Pakistan. Since Urdu is official language of Pakistan so we focused on Urdu. Specially when we speak and write. I am from Karachi and I remember writing paragraphs in Urdu was so hard. I used forget the dots all the time and Urdu Is incomplete without dots.People from Pakistan speak Urdu with correct pronunciation and clear accent.

@Anonymous-he3pi4 жыл бұрын
@Habiba Maumoniat It is difficult for me to understand what you are saying.. I don't know what exactly u want to tell if you are saying turkish has only about 10 words similar to Urdu then when i watch their dramas/movies why i find many words similar to our vocabulary maybe then those words are from other languages but turk people do use them.. n Yes I am Pathan and Proud Pakistani and having interest in other's language doesn't mean i am comparing myself with turks/russian/korean/chinese/thai etc. I like to watch foreign things and learning about their cultures or languages and Turkish language is the only one i have learned(little bit) easily and i can understand some words when they are speaking otherwise it's very hard for me to understand when someone speaks foreign language i don't learn any word except how to say Hello or Thanku or Ok.
@Anonymous-he3pi4 жыл бұрын
@Habiba Maumoniat I have once noted down the similar words when i was watching an episode.. They may write it differently i am writing in english 1) Tashukridirim (shukria) 2) sham (exact same) 3) Haq (exact) 4) Baba/Dada 5) Ajaba (Ajaib/ajeeb means wonder) 6) Jan (exact) 7) Dawat (exact) 8) Rahat (exact) 9) Yaani (exact) 10) Jawab (exact) 11) Qabol (exact) 12) Wasiyat (exact) 13) Aafiyat (exact) 14) Sabah (we say subha) 15) Itraf (exact) 16) Farq (same) 17) Sheker (Shaker) 18) Sultan (exact same) 19) Chun k (we have Chuk k and kion k ) 20) meras (same) 21) Imanat (amanat) 22) Ustad (exact) 23) Masoom (exact) 24) Herkiz (herkoi) 25) Nafs (exact) 26) Musafir (we use it differently but word is same as our musafir ) 27 )Dushman (exact) 28)Insan (exact) 29) Shashird (exact) 30) Herat (exact) 31 ) Ghuror (exact) 32) Hayat (exact,normally we use Zindagi but i have read in poetry and novels) 33 )Masla (maslan) 34 ) Dunya (exact) 35 )her Zaman (har zamana) 36) Hamila (exact) 37) Shart (same) they write it diffently but i recognized these words when they were speaking bcz i know these words from Urdu

Salam bibi, Breakdown of the mistakes in the video 1) We don't say hello on the streets as commonly as Indians. We use the word, "Salam" or the full phrase of "Aslam o Alaikum". We do use "Hello" though on the phones all the time. 4) You pronounced "Shab-ba-bakhair" all right but spelled it wrong. 7) "Aap sai mil kar khushi huee". This is past tense. It means, it WAS nice to meet you. We usually use it when we are parting ways with someone who we had just met. And we do use it at the end of the meeting. 10) "Please" is also commonly used. "Barah e Mehrbani" is usually used to ask a favor or for a request. 16) We also use "Excuse me" pretty commonly now. And using "Maaf kijiye ga" can be used everywhere, including friends and family. 18) You'll see "bait-ul-khala" only in written form. Most of the people don't even know what it means. And yes, "toilet" or "bathroom" are the ones in use. 21) The word "check" is never used for "bill". We also use the word, "hisab" but it is slowly dying. Check is either a bank check or a check performed by a mechanic or a doctor. 25) Lastly, the right goodbye is indeed "khuda hafiz". "Allah Hafiz" only became popular after Pakistani went in droves to Gulf states. But overall, your video is 9/10. Bohat bohat shukria aap ka.

Brother i am not sure if it is of best manners to address her mistakes this openly. Surley it does not reflect good upon you since it makes it seem like you looked specifically for something you can correct her in

I'm glad someone mentioned her mistake about Good Night. (Shab-ba-bakhair) I'm an Indian and I heard this phrase in recent 1-2 years from an elderly Indian youtuber "Rajan Singh" who's been living in US from a long time and makes amazing videos and always ends video with that. I wondered what it meant. Some say it's the same phrase for Good morning and Good Evening in Urdu but that's wrong. It's subha-bakhair and shab-ba-bakhair. It's probably the most confusing Urdu phrase. Meanwhile, I also learned Urdu for Please, You're Welcome, and Bathroom. The strange thing I find is that Excuse me and I'm sorry have the same translation, although excuse is used in a different context.

Please, you should teach those extra (or different) letters, so, for those who know the Arabic alphabet it's going to be easier to fully understand and be able to read. Please 🙏🙏 consider it! Or do you have a video on Urdu alphabet? I didn't find it... 😞😮 BTW it sounds so beautifly!
