I am 82+ and a retired professor of Physics. My grand father was educated upto middle. He was the mayor of layalpur. He was the only child of his father. He made a will that every child of the new generation should be educated. Notably on of my chacha did PhD in chemistry in 1929 from Berlin and taught Choudry Mohammed Ali, the late prime minister of Pakistan. Another chacha did eye specialisation from London in 1932. He retired as Deputy Director of health West Pakistan. He also taught and helped in Building Nishter Medical College. He retired in 1958. Now we are an educated family. My father, a dentist, helped one of my class mates whose father was a gardener. My class mate retired as Deputy Director Administration in SUPARCO. I think there is nothing parallel to education which coupled with "terbiat" from home and school help to build the nation. But, unfortunately, our new generation is educated to make money at all cost forgetting the teaching of Islam and elders. My three children, a male medical doctor, another an engineer and the only daughter an MCS.
