How long after taking antibiotics does one have to leave before doing the test ?

Hi, patient have to w8 least 4 weeks before performing a hydrogen breath test. This is to allow time for the gut flora to recover after antibiotic treatment. Cause intestinal bacteria composition can significantly alter results.

@@AlphaGeekgirl what about fasting do you want to know prior to the test? You can’t have any food or Liquids atleast 8 hours before the test and if you smoke you can’t have a smoke 2 hours before the test. Hope this helps
