Agree completely! Uriah Heep deserves better, much better than they got. I am a huge Deep Purple fan, but people always talk about "the big three", I would say, the big four, because Uriah Heep should be there, as well. They were absolutely there on the top of great hard rock bands in the early 1970´s. All respect to the great Uriah Heep. Mick Box, Gary Thain, David Byron, Lee Kerslake, Ken Hensley, that´s a line up with class, the line up that recorded their greatest album (in my opinion, at least), Magician´s birthday, this one, Look at yourself, second best.

I like it, the original LP cover had a silvery square so you could actually look at yourself while the song was playing very stoned.

You are right Susanne. The original album version of Look At Yourself features Ken singing the title track. For a long time I also thought it was David because: A, I saw them live in '75 and it was most definitely David singing the lead then B, the 1973 live album version is also unmistakably David singing lead, and C, especially in the early days, David and Ken could sound uncannily alike if they so chose or conversely, strikingly different. David also was a little more experimental with tone and style in those days. Think "Come Away Melinda," "The Park," "Simon the Bullet Freak," "What Should Be Done," "Wake Up Set Your Sights." He didn't always exploit his signature, piercing inflection which could not possibly belong to any other soul on the planet. But when he did, it was an impossible act to follow. No matter how great the singer - and John Lawton was fantastic- songs like The Wizard, July Morning and Stealin' just sound "wrong" if it's not David's voice.

Even if my English is not my Language, I understand that you are a person, hearing the difference between the voices of David and Ken, and understand, that, like you said, they could make their voices nearly sound the same, if they want so. Davids Voice was the softest I've ever heard, like silk. And Ken could hit the highest notes more easely through a whole Concert, even a littlebit more than David. But both could sing a fantastic Falsetto. John Lawton was very powerfull, never sang a wrong note. David did ....but some Songs belong to David and some to John. Love both of their Voices...thank them both and the whole Band for the magic moments they brought to Life and for keeping going on
