Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) and Pyelonephritis are two conditions that are very similar in nature, but have different causes. UTIs affect the urinary tract, while pyelonephritis affects the kidney. Both can cause fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

I'm confused as to why we encourage cranberry juice intake to acidify the urine, however discourage intake of alcohol and caffeine which also acidify the urine. Can I get some clarification here?

I was hospitalized with sepsis from pyelonephritis and I didn't have urinary frequency or dysuria. Only a fever and lower back pain. I also didn't have any nitrites in my urine culture.

Question about urine acidity. The video at 11:03 encourages cranberry juice to create acidic urine but discourages alcohol and caffeine "to avoid that acidic urine." There must have been some mistake, I suppose. Do you want or do not want acidic urine? Do we recommend or not recommend alcohol and caffeine. Does that increase or decrease urine acidity?

I can't believe they are still talking about wiping. Bidets that go on your toilet have been out for decades. I installed them on my toilets 20 years ago. They are the cleanest and best way to keep bacterior out of your urinary system, especially for women. I haven't used toilet paper in years, just small towels.
