My babies pee so much and I can't tell you the last time I saw them drink water. Feeding a moisture rich diet does volumes, especially a raw diet.

My chow, chow had a bladder infection. The vet misdiagnosed her and gave her a emergency hysterectomy instead. Never have I been so mad. I told them there was blood in her urine. She did an ultrasound and said my chow chow had a mass in her uterus. She was wrong. The surgeon called me to tell me the bad news. The next day the owner of the veterinarian office called me to apologize. The vet that misdiagnosed her never did apologize. I have lost trust in my veterinarian hospital altogether. She ended up on antibiotics and pain killers.

I understand how annoyed you were, yesterday I took my Boston to the vet, explained she was struggling to wee, she said she x-rayed, which I didn't see, then said there's a suspicion etc, I asked explain the suspicion, later she said her uterus is full of puss needs an operation can do today, I could be wrong I didn't trust her odd explanation then she dropped in pyometra which I've learnt can be fatal, an injection and antibiotics I asked for, I want a second opinion sap.

I went to the vet for my girl having discharge and the vet didn’t get a urine sample so she decided to try a needle in her bladder, which I had no idea what was going on, she brought her in to me and told me she used an ultrasound and saw something on her bladder and I would have to go to the other practice to get an ultrasound from the other vet. So I was a bit angry about what she was going to do…but I went to the other vet and he said there was nothing there and then he diagnosed her with incontinence. A few weeks went by I decided I am going to find out..took her off meds and she Is not incontinent. I too have no trust in vets. There’s more that happened…but…

It’s very frustrating !!! You need to ask around to see what people Think of there vets . You can find one that you trust but it may take time . I have been to several practices and have worked in a vet practice. It’s not just the vets , you also need to trust that staff to . So very hard !!! Also the prices that’s charged are insane ! 🫣

I have always used a clean, designated soup ladle for urine collection in dogs. If anyone needs to get a collection in a pinch it’s pretty helpful. Understand if you’re taking your pet into a clinic with concerns for a bacterial infection they will want a sterile sample so don’t let them urinate. I having a cat with a history of sterile stress cystitis always culture. It’s expensive but if you consider the work I have to circle back and do post antibiotic therapy it’s worth it. We have had zero issues since going on a high moisture diet.

My intact chihuahua had cysteine stones a few years ago so I’m always trying to keep his urine more on the alkaline side to prevent stones from forming…he’s a SUPER picky eater so this has been difficult so I appreciate all that I’ve learned from you…you have been a real God send…thank you❤

Try milk thistle. This helps is supposed to clean out the liver and bladder. My Dachshund is prone to bladder stones, and this is one item my vet suggested. Also try combining 2 tbsp green tea, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp honey. A couple tsp a day helps with ph.

We are now thinking it’s behavioural/stress related or even FIC. Would you have any advice for ways to help with FIC in felines? Thank you for all your great advice!

My 14 yr old cat has blood in her urine again. She has been using the litter pan a lot. She frequently will go from one litter pan to other and only has drops of blood. She drinks a fair amount of water but does not have much of an appetite. 🎉My 2 senior cats were put on c/d Rx food for her urinary problems. I had started all my cats on a raw diet but this one refused to eat it. She was previously put on an antibiotic and the bleeding continued. I can tell she’s not feeling well. She just wants to sleep. I would love to hear your suggestions!

My 7yr old female dog just had what the vet originally thought was a UTI, but then said it was most likely vaginitis.. After antibiotics the infection seems to be gone, but she's had diluted urine for all 3 urine tests in the last month. Any ideas?

I have a 20 week old boxer puppy who has had a UTI since we got her at 12 weeks. We did a culture & determined she has ecoli. We get her clear with antibiotics but within a few days the bacteria is back. We’ve also had to address issues with her urinary PH because she is forming crystals. She’s been on a raw diet (Darwin’s) for the past 1.5 months. I hate using antibiotics but don’t know what else to do.

First thing I would do is run an Animal Biome test to see if the e. coli is a result of a microbiome overgrowth. If so they have supplements to get the levels down. I would add in a cranberry supplement like Utrin to lower the urine pH too.

I have/had 3 female dogs. All spayed & up to date on vaccines. My chihuahua was euthanized in April due to serious medical conditions. My latter dogs are 12 & 11. My advice is: don’t get a pet, veterinary care IS expensive. Then 2 pets left always have to get groomed, $60-80$ each plus tip every 2 months. My chihuahua had surgery last September to remove two tumors, it was expensive. I regret putting her through that.

Anyone looking into pet insurance that sees this make sure you look carefully at them I got for my puppy and the policy had a 6 m waiting time for knees . Lucky me ,, my girl blew both knees by 10 months . I then called and spoke to other insurance company’s and if I would have picked another it would have been covered . 🫣
